This is absolutely brilliant! Absolutely brilliant indeed! Such a fantastic way to come up with the most interesting of characters! 
How did you come up with the shapes?
hmmmm.... they are all so interesting! But for some reason the guy who looks like he was in a scrap and got a swollen cheek! XD

i came with the shapes just doing some random lines and lock it, like the first image. Then, while i'm seeig the shape i imagine the character.
