The British sure know how to make fierce-looking trains.Β

But since the real thing would have ran on a light railway it would have to obey the 25MPH speed limit

In war there are no speed limits.

True, the Eastern European armoured trains look mighty but the German ones look formidable too

So, do they use it for anything? Was the real one full size?

FFDP-Guy In reply to RailroadBrony [2014-04-30 05:11:32 +0000 UTC]
It was mainly used by the army for fighting or that an invasion and the real one was the same size as the replica

OK, I may be missing something here. What guage is this railroad, because it looks like it is narrow gauge. How tall is the engine?

I don't know how tall it is but I do know that this railway is a 15 inch gauge railway

15" gauge, the Romney Hythe and Dymnchurch Railway had a miniature armoured train in WW2. The story goes that someone in London responsible for planning coastal defences saw the line on the map and decided an armoured train should patrol it, not realising it was miniature at the time.Β

That's really interesting, and so very British at the same time. Many thanks for the response below!

That's nice to know, but it still looks convincing though

Sure is but another give away it's also on bogies rather than a set of driving wheels

That's another good point, all steam engines must have driving wheels and side rods

It's 1:1, this armoured train originally ran on a miniature line in WW2.

15 inch that's the gauge but I don't know much about the scale though

This is the one that the British used right? Poles used to man from 4 to 6 of them, also we made some modifications to them that later were used in other trains used by British crews.
Armored trains nothing better than - Chu-chu Moderf*cker XD

Sure is, the real thing would of had a Boys anti tank rifleΒ and a Lewis gun en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boys_antβ¦Β en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_guβ¦

Anti-tank rifles are real? I didn't know that.

I didn't think that was even possible.

They would've only penetrate the armourΒ but typesΒ like the Boys anti tank rifle would have been ineffective and a bastard to repair Β

FFDP-Guy In reply to PunchieTheNeko [2014-06-03 15:18:11 +0000 UTC]
Yes it became increasingly ineffective against later designs of enemy tanks in WW2 and in the European theatre of the war it was then replaced by the PIAT (Projector Infantry Anti tank) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PIATΒ in 1943 but the Boys anti tank rifle was then to have been used for taking out Bunkers, Light skinned vehicles and Machine gun nests
