What I saw here...
M3A1 'Grease Gun'
Sten Mk III
2 Walther P38s
M1911
An 'unusual' Thompson
M1897 Trench-gun
M1 Garand

There is also a C96 visible, and I'm not sure what's so unusual about the M1A1 Thompson.

Forget about the C96. The Thompson is a M1A1 Thompson (judging from the rear sight).

I like the airsoft M1 Grand best.
I'm planning on getting an airsoft Kar98k someday.

I did a few times it was nice
but my shoulder felt it. I fired a few and at least one of them was an original. It's pretty affordable in Czech repoublic.

But they do look very nice as well but here in the UK I don't know where I can fire one

They won't even let me fire a fucking boyscout rifle at my local gun range since after some shit that happened to me last year, since you now have to have police approval to do that as well. This country is a fucking joke fuck living here.

You're right. The only so-called "democratic" country I can think of where it's worse to be a gun owner is Japan, but at least over there they don't have these ridiculous laws about having to have an airsoft gun painted a stupid colour unless you're a skirmisher. Well fuck it, I went to a couple of those shitty skirmishes last year so damned if I'm going to let them force me to have it painted an idiotic colour just to please them.

Well, it's one of the extremes - USA is on the other end. I wouldn't want to have either - I find Czech gun control to be pretty fair - it's not flawless but it seems like one of the most reasonable systems I've seen so far - from this perspective, I'm lucky to live here .
Even airsoft is a big, great thing here with no official regulation - no stupid orange tips, power regulation is left to the event organizers and common sense (and if that fails, the person with 200 m/s muzzle velocity, shooting at people from 10 meters, gets a beating or at least won't be allowed to other events), we only need permissions from the owners of places we play at (mostly regular forests and abandoned buildings with no modificationsΒ - "modded" fields are not very common here).

Totally agree. That's what I hate about this country, these idiots saying shit like "If we don't have a complete ban on handguns, we'll end up like America!!!" No we fucking won't you morons! It's not a case of EITHER we have a total ban on virtually all types of guns OR we have some free-for-all like they have in America for fuck's sake!
Thing about Airsoft is, I'm not massively into all this skirmishing business, all I want is a couple of airsoft guns as display pieces and to shoot at targets in the backyard, without having to fucking PAY an airsoft shop to RUIN the finish of my gun for me! (Like it's not just an orange tip; you literally have to get HALF THE FUCKING GUN painted some idiotic colour!) And yet, when you say that, these fucking arseholes, even actual skirmishers a lot of the time are just like "u sure u dnt jst wanna rob a shop m8888?" FUCK NO! Like seriously, by the time I've finished spending Β£100s on Airsoft shit, I could have robbed several fucking local shops and still not broken even, by which time I would undoubtedly be in jail. These people are just idiots.

How does the law about paint work? If you do skirmishes, is it legal to use a gun without the painted parts? Or do you have to keep the unpainted guns with somebody who has a right to store them (the organizers)? Because I've never seen anyone from UK running around with an orange/blue gun and I've watched a few videos.

There's no law against actually owning a so-called "realistic imitation firearm" (IE one that isn't painted a stupid colour), it's just that if you want to buy one or paint a stupid colour one to a proper colour you have to basically be able to prove you're a skirmisher or something else like a theatre owner or defence instructor or something like that. For skirmishers, it's usually this little card called UKARA which lets you buy properly finished guns from shops. You have to do 3 skirmishes at an approved site in a time period between 2 and 12 months, then in theory the site operator will send off for your UKARA card or some shit like that (Of course they never did with me... )

That does seem really stupid. I wonder what were they thinking when they introduced it they probably saw red every time they heard or saw a mention of a gun.

It's because they thought it would make people less likely to go and rob shops and shit with BB guns. Basically, it was part of this large, draconian bill, the so-called "Violent Crime Reduction Act" (Which of course has done nothing of the sort!), which also gives cops the power to ban people from visiting their own town/city centres for the next 48 hours without any arrest or charge, and also means you have to buy airguns face-to face (interestingly, they couldn't make it so that airguns were brightly coloured, because airguns in this country come under the same laws as actual licensed firearms, and it's illegal to have a firearm disguised as another object, including an imitation firearm! .) But yeah, it's not as if one can't just go out and buy a fucking can of spray paint and spray their gun black, because interestingly, criminals don't generally give a fuck about the law!

marinkognito2 In reply to eddiehimselfstolemyu [2015-08-06 10:14:38 +0000 UTC]
What I find more dangerous is that a criminal might get a hold of a live firearm and disguise it as an airgun (yeah, it may be illegal but I think that's one of the last concerns for such person ).
It's annoying how those laws annoy everyone so much except the actual criminals .

Yeah, they do take the realism out of their abilities take the Colt M1911 for example Call of duty makes it fire like a piece of crap
