Meant to ask, what exactly does the multiply do? That always confused me.

it makes the layer transparent but like stained glass. If you have colors on a multiply layer overtop a normal layer with color, it will darken the areas underneath. Essentially you line art will show through the color you put underneath it

okay here's what you do.
1. Take the selection tool and click and drag it over your image. You should have marching ants all around it. Hit Ctrl+ X. (this cuts it) then hit Ctrl + V (this pastes it as a new layer)

2. In that little later box, you'll see a scrolly thing that says "Normal". Click on the Layer with the line art you just pasted. not go to that scrolly box and make it say "Multiply".

3. Hit the little button that creates a new layer (at the bottom of the layer box) Or go to Layer >Create New Layer at the top. Drag this layer (in the layer box) so that it is underneath your Multiply Line art Layer. Should look like this:

Layer 1
Layer 2
Background

Layer 1 is your multiply layer. Layer 2 (and any more layers you want to add between the multiply layer and the background) will be your coloring layers.
Background....eeeh leave that alone XD

Hope this helps ya little photoshopper. If you are still having issues, check this out--> [link]
