A revamp for subeta, following my species revamp of the ruffie. I love drawing ruffies so so much - they've shot to being my favourite pet species to draw!When we first created the colour spectrum, for some BIZARRE reason, we decided the shading of the white/grey base had to be grey too. A few years down the line, and I can't tell you how painful it is for me to shade with grey xD (10 points to you if you feel the same kinda pain!) Oh how I wish I could have used yellows and blues and pinks to shade this! I comfort myself that the glacier ruffie was shaded with blues, and the angelic one with pinks and purples. THEY AT LEAST ARE PRETTY!
The pose of this one was fun to do. I do like to bring out the personality of the species and colour when I draw my pets

Shading grays with grayscale is a NIGHTMARE. 8(
That said, omfg, Spectrum Ruffie ;o; It's so unbelievably adorable! Man, the shading on your Ruffies is always so impressive, with that subtle fur texture... I think you pulled off the grayscale perfectly. The obvious motion in the picture makes it so much fun. n__n I love how the ears are flying!

See I thought it would be really hard to beat the old Spectrum Ruffie's pose and it's adorable puppy play-bow with paint all over the place, but this just blows it away. I love this pose, and the rainbow following the circular path of the tail just adds so much motion to the picture. Lovely lovely lovely!

I like the grey shading - it makes the rainbows pop out more, to me. If you shaded in blues or yellows, it would affect the rest of the colours and you might end up with a rainbow that looks more blue-hued, or one colour would dominate over the others.
But that's just how I see it; I wouldn't have a clue as to the reasoning behind the initial decision xD;;
But I find it really boring to shade in flat greys, too. They generally always end up blue-ish or red-ish.

I've never been a giant fan of Ruffies (to actually get more pet slots) but this revamp has totally won over my heart, I must get myself one. It's adorable Rah! Great job!

This one is awesome. You convinced me to completely change one of my pets for this guy, I had always loved the spectrum ruffie but never got one since I knew it would be revamped eventually and wanted to wait. I was expecting the same pose but this is just 100 times better x3 Great job.
