Description So I have a commission coming up soon based around the newest edition to the Dragon Ball universe, Android 21. She's got a really great design and has been a ton of fun to draw. So much so that I worked on a little bonus piece of her. Nailing the incredible visuals of DBZ Fighters will be a challenge, but DBZ is a huge influence on my artwork so I'm very much up for the challenge.

well if it is an android it is not a person, and we shouldn't use the pronoun "she" to describe it

Ah, but aren't animals not human as well? Yet we still call them by male and female pronouns.

All that aside, she goes by "she" and "her" in the game, so it's fine to use female pronouns. (Also, I believe it's been said that she's more of a cyborg than an android, but I'd have to double check on that claim.)

well what makes something a "she" or a "he" is their biological sex, all animals have a sex so of course all animals are either a he or a she.
If this character is a cyborg, that is a human with cybernetic implant like this lady here: hight3ch.com/wp-content/upload…
then it is another matter. But a cyborg is still human where it counts and thereby also clearly male or female.
"Android" on the other hand, refers specifically to a robot that looks like a human. Emphasis on "looks like"

Yeah, but DBZ kinda threw around "android" wherever they felt like it. 16 is an android based on Dr. Gero's dead son, but is fully robotic. 17 and 18, on the other hand, are cyborgs, but every numbered creation is called an android, so...

Yeah, we'll just go with "she goes by female pronouns".

well the difference between he/she and it are critical as it determines whether what we are dealing with is a person or a thing.
An android are ultimately just a tool, it have no consciousness and moral status and can therefore be used or destroyed as we see fit.

I guess I could call "her" it?

well as I say, it looks like a lady, but if it is a robot, then it is really not.
It is the same thing with transsexuals, even with the best disguise in the world it is still only a disguise, it is what is on the inside that counts.
