Description
The lines were originally intended to be used on Alex's ref sheet. However, I ran out of space in my sketchbook and didn't want this to go to waste. Now were just have something regarding a rustic moose roaming the industrial lots of Old Ashtyn.
Which means that Alex has to bring along his temperamental shotgun dubbed Thumper should the animal attempt to charge him. Ike's there for morale support more than anything.
It's a bit of a running gag to dispatch him to wildlife related calls; sending a K9 unit to deal with disorientated rustic animals is rather counter-productive considering the nature of the unit and the task at hand. But Alex also still has a valid animal control permit from his time spent working in that department which still leaves him qualified for these types of situations- much to his chagrin. Would rather be dealing with social issues rather than contending with the by-product of living in a city surrounded by wilderness and bush.
At least it's not a bear. Bears present their own set of issues, most notably that the police service doesn't exactly provide him with tranquilizers to subdue the animal.
The tattoo on the inside of his arm reads "Die mij bemint, bemint ook mijn hond" which is Dutch for "Love me, love my dog" and it holds both a literal and metaphorical meaning for him.

Oh gawd, I think I'd be ashamed to say I even sport a firearms possession and acquisition license in Canada if I didn't draw some level of proper trigger discipline, hahahahahaha[it's actually a bit of a pet peeve of mine when people don't].
Thank-you so much!

It's all good! We all make mistakes, hahahaha.
Not to mention that I really respect that you'd take the time to spare me the embarrassment of potentially having an improperly translated tattoo on a character who is very proud of being Dutch- that's really, really appreciated and I may have to bother you in the future for quick English to Dutch translations for this guy. <333

Well when I first saw it, or did seem to have some sort of messege of irony. Dogs of War owning dogs. Idk. :/

I didn't even think about it like that- that's actually a kind of cool way of looking at it.

I feel sorry for you Katts.
I find myself wondering if it would blow their minds to think about where these animals get their food from, let alone pets of any sort. It is not simply a dog owning a dog, just as how a K9 officer is not merely a human owning a dog; it is an obvious creature of higher intelligence forming a bond with, working with, and looking after one of lesser evolution.
The comparisons to slavery and racism are rich and are rather offensive towards marginalized people who are effected by racism in their day to day lives or those who have had to endure the lasting impact of slavery as a whole.
I am sorry that you have to deal with such pigheadedness.

Well, the slavery comment was a joke. Hahahahahaha.
But the dude taking it like it's a personal attack against him? Hoooo boy, that's rather funny.
So offended that he blocked me. LOL.

Why would he block you? It is not as though you said anything mean or offensive to him.
I suppose he really is trying to act as though he were even remotely capable of standing from some moral high ground while flinging around insults such as "dog fucker". One day, he will grow up and feel somewhat embarassed for making an asshat of himself over nothing.

Man, I don't even really care that much.
I've been called much worse online and by people who genuinely had a bone to pick with me.
Someone getting offended over a picture featuring a quadruped dog with an anthropomorphic one is just funny to me.
I mean. We live in a world where women are still sold off into slavery in some countries, where corporations hold authority over governments and are considered individual human entities, where gross human rights violations are glossed over because of a lack of exploitable resources in a specific country, where people live in fear of their police forces and governments[the very people who should be protecting them]- and a drawing of dogs is what sets someone off.
I miss being youthfully ignorant.
Dann, can you make me 18 again?

You can tell which one is more human more than just the shape of their body, but their eyes.
I always find it hilarious when some go all "furception" when it's clearly a fantasy/surreal world.

Yeah, as do I- especially after explaining multiple times in the comments as to why it's a lot more logical to have four-legged animals than to have a world that doesn't have them. xD
Nevermind that Disney, Arthur, and other franchise have been doing it since long before I was born- or that it's like humans owning apes; apes owning apes! APECEPTION.

I agree, and to think that people are comparing this to very real social issues such as racism and slavery. It is really something else.
