Words cannot express how much I love his pre-evil design, and also how much I ship him and Celestia oh my gosh c':I really really want these comics!
I wish there was more fanart of him, but that's okay, i'll make up for that with lots of drawings of him :'D

Well, at one point back in Twilight's universe, Celestia says that she loves him, which tells me that he had to have been good at one point and that they were in love, but that something happened and he turned evil. I haven't read them, but i'm guessing that in both universes they were in love at one point, it's just that in these two universes their fates are switched, which is why in the alternate universe, Celestia is the one that turns evil instead of Sombra, who becomes king of Equestria, whereas in the other universe where he turned evil, Celestia is the ruler of Equestia c: But it's just my guess!

I'm guessing he was! In the comic, there's a point where the Celestia in Twilight's universe says that she loves him, which tells me that at some point Sombra was good, and they fell in love, but something happened and he turned evil. :0

Not exactly. There's a mirror universe where all the characters who are good are evil, and vice versa. Celestia travels there and while she's there, she falls in love with the mirror universe version of Sombra. But of course, they are from different universes . . .
There's a stained glass window with Flim and Flam in judges' robes as the Elements of Fairness and Alicorn Princess Trixie, the Element of Humility. It's brilliant.
