Description
I have probably wanted to draw something Inspector Gadget related since I first saw theCHAMBA's crossover drawing of Gadget and Lupin the 3rd, since I had been doing a lot of Lupin artwork around when CHAMBA posted that piece. This particular scene is of Gadget and Co. falling out of the sky, Gadget grabbing hold of Penny and Brain early on to try and save them all from a nasty fall. I think they'll be just fine.
I can't exactly say I'm a fan of Inspector Gadget, as I can only sort of enjoy the original show a few episodes at a time. Although I have binged the Netflix version, which for some reason is a dorky but pleasant watch. Much more tolerable than the utter stupidity of Gadget and the Gadgetinis, which I only recently discovered was a thing.
The style of the original show, though, cannot be ignored, it has strong aesthetics, great music by a team of composers who had handled the music for many other cartoons of the time, a solid voice cast, and a premise that subverted expectations. Instead of having a kid character who annoyingly tagged along on dangerous adventures, Penny was actually the one solving the crimes and saving the day, while Gadget bumbled and fumbled his way through each investigation, ultimately taking the credit for stopping Claw. A premise that was promptly dumped, much to my frustration, when they made the live-action movie. I have mild nostalgia for that film because I actually saw it in theaters, and I have made a fan-poster of it in the past because if nothing else, the art and vfx for the film were top-notch. If only they could have been used to adapt the actual concept.
Anyway, I'm rambling at this point. There may be more Gadget art in the future, a few crossovers most definitely.

Yes. I actually mention it in the description. Something about the old show I don't like. Maybe it's how slow it feels. But the new Netflix series is basically a guilty pleasure for me.

Thank you so so much. I've been excited to see this piece get a lot of attention.
Also, you're kidding. Your art skill is pretty darn good too. You could easily do something like this with some experimentation with perspective drawing. True, I did quite a bit of effects work here in Adobe After Effects to add the lens blur and the speed lines, but the base image is something I could easily see you tackling. You've developed a great traditional style, nice line work, little details with how you draw wrinkles and corners, good subtle shading, and very animated faces. A few inconsistencies with certain shapes and clothing, but those can also be ironed out fast by more practice. I hope you keep at it, and you just gained a new Watcher.

Thank you! It really means a lot to me. I unfortunately am a scribbler so my drawings never really reach full potential. My head moves too fast to keep up but I find if I redraw the same thing its gets better. I definitely will keep at it, its my best coping skill and people seem amused by it! You're compliments mean a lot to me!!!!

Thank you, Dracuria. This is one of the more dynamic pieces in my gallery, which really needs to be my new trend going forward. I need more atmospheric pieces and more action scenes.

Thank you so much. I try to experiment with camera angles and compositions for my larger fan-works. Makes things much more interesting. I still don't do action scenes yet, but that will be coming up fairly soon.
