Fatimah finished her last swallow of orange soda and crumpled the can between her fingers, tossing it into a nearby garbage bin. The recycling was too far away. Walking over to to the shooting stage, she sidestepped a spotlight operator trailing cables behind him. She approached the thick pink rubber sheet which hung from the ceiling on a frame. Undoing her white fleece bathrobe, she hung it over the back of a tiny chair and stepped out of her plastic flip-flops, leaving them on the cold tile floor off the mat. She wore a remarkably tight purple bodysuit, sheathing her body in the glossy material. Rubbing her palms together she walked onto the shooting mat and rolled her feet around, establishing some connection with the ground. Bending forwards and backwards in rapid succession, she planted her hands on the ground both in front of and behind her and then sprang up onto her palms, straightening her spine out so she became perfectly perpendicular to the ground. Taking slow breaths and bending her arms she began to do push-ups while in her handstand. After about ten, she kicked her legs back and lay on her stomach. Casually arching her spine backwards a little, she raised her legs simultaneously, without using her hands, and looped them nimbly over her shoulders. Her toes touched the ground right under her ribcage and she nestled her feet firmly on the ground, wrapping her arms around and pulling her body in on itself. Looking around a camera suddenly flashed and the shoot director, Marko said something while she was briefly surprised by the flash. “Sorry what was that?” Fatimah asked while she pulled her torso up through her thighs.
