Dionysus is a fun wolf; he likes to joke with his friends and take long strolls around the cliffside. He’s loud and his jovial laugh can often be heard wherever he goes, making him easy to find. He will quickly become friends with anyone who can tell him a good joke!
Though he tries his best to be polite, Dionysus is a notorious flirt. He has a weakness for pretty wolves, and he isn’t shy to say something when one catches his eye. Admittedly, he finds it much easier to shamelessly compliment she-wolves; he becomes uniquely flustered when a pretty male offers attention. Though he often expresses romantic feelings, he isn’t the type to settle down… He finds too much enjoyment in his freedom, and there are too many options for him to make a decision; call him indecisive but he would prefer to think of it as living life to the fullest!
Despite his usual smile, Dionysus is prone to grumpiness. When too tired or too hungry, he will often become quiet and distant. He may even be occasionally snappy and rude when others try to approach him. These feelings never last long but they tend to be points of frustration for him due to the guilt he feels in the aftermath.
Sweetness comes naturally to Dionysus. He likes to shower his friends with gifts as often as he can, and truly never expects anything in return. When he knows a friend is having a rough week, he will go out of his way to plan an activity that will brighten their spirits. He believes that life is too short to spend sulking!
He can be rather blunt and often will not notice if his words have caused harm. He speaks from his heart and never tells a lie ー this doesn’t always go well. Still, he can always be trusted to offer a friend his advice whether they like it or not.
Dionysus is strong and sure of himself, bold and confident, and he runs into situations without thinking of the risks! He’s certain that, come what may, he can handle it! And, if he can’t, then perhaps it was his time to go anyway… Nothing has stopped him yet!
History:
Dionysus was born during a time filled with whispers of propaganda and revolution. Of course, as a pup he was unaware of what these words truly meant. As an only-child he found himself firmly guarded by his protective and loving parents, and when the island split in two he had no qualms with following them South.
Growing up in Tundes, he developed a very strong sense of the things he believed to be right and wrong. Influenced by his peace-loving parents, he never took issue with those who lived North of the island ー though he did wonder why their beliefs seemed to be rooted in violence and magic. When the sudden deaths began to happened, he did not immediately blame the Kol like some other wolves, but he wondered if they knew more then they would admit…
As a young adult, Dionysus was forced to care for his parents during the sickness that swept the island, and again cared for them in the autumn when hunting became a priority for the pack. Then, during the winter of that year, he lost his parents to natural causes… The loss hit him hard and he spent a long time suffering with his grief.
Though he drifted through life for some time, he was eventually forced to move on. Tensions among the Tundes had been building for some time, yet he was still taken aback when the pack split in three. At the time, he was still so unused to being alone and making his own choices… He fell back on what his parents would have chosen for him: Taika, a group choosing to live in peace with the island.
His decision to live in Taika is quickly challenged by the arrival of the stone circles ー he becomes very curious about their origins and purpose. He questions if they are a result of the islands' will, or if something more is at play… During the spring gathering, he found himself connecting with the wolves of Skydas and their dedication to obtaining knowledge while continuing to preserve peace. Saying a quick farewell to his packmates, he decided to venture to the cliffside and take on the trade of a Warden.
Though he recognized the tragedy at hand, Dionysus considered the great wave that washed over Taika to be proof that he chose correctly in leaving ー he refuses to think of what may have happened to him if he hadn’t. Still, knowing many of the wolves who flocked to Skydas in their time of need, he did everything in his power to help.
The older he gets, the more Dionysus wonders about his place. For the first time, he has started to desire to move up in ranks ー his quest for knowledge grows, and his desire to help his fellow wolves is resolute.
Who knows what the future holds…
