Previously, I went into a long explanation on what a toon is, understanding its nature, and going through a basic explanation of a toon spirit. (www.deviantart.com/finnjr63/ar… ) Now, I wanna go into a further explanation of toon spirits and how they function in the body of a toon.

As I mentioned before, toon spirits are what is written into the toon for it to come to life, as a toon body without a spirit is a simple lifeless monochrome statue or puppet or whatever. Each toon spirit contains unique properties, conditions, powers, personalities, identities, etc. that are meant to give the toon life. Please see the link above for the basic description about it. Anyway, though I did get a lot of questions (with some now outdated answers I gave), one particular question that was asked a bit was if multiple spirits can reside in a toon. To that I say, yes. And I'll get into details about it now.

So up to 5 spirits can reside in a toon, although it's organized in three categories. First spirit to enter the body becomes the identity spirit. Second spirit to enter becomes the primary spirit, and the last three become secondary spirits. Different effects can happen depending on where the spirit is placed.

Identity Spirit: The first spirit to enter the body becomes the identity spirit, where it will showcase all that it has. Not only will the body accompany all the powers and properties of the spirit, but the identity of the toon as well, both outside and inside. For example, if the spirit of Twilight Sparkle entered a lifeless SpongeBob statue, the statue will contain the colors of Twilight Sparkle as well as its personality, alongside its powers and properties. (Sometimes, certain spirits can merge together into one, but certain spirits have to be designed in a specific way in order for two specific spirits to come together, such as the spirit of Garnet of Steven Universe being just two spirits merged together into one.)

Primary Spirit: The second spirit to enter the body becomes the primary spirit, where it will showcase all the powers and properties of the spirit, but not the identity of the toon. For example, if the spirit of Mega Man entered Jake the Dog with Jake's spirit, Jake will still be himself, although he will now have the powers of Mega Man.

Secondary Spirits: The last three spirits to enter the body become the secondary spirits, where it will only showcase select powers and properties of the spirit, usually minor and probably at random. For example, if the spirit of Star Butterfly entered Lincoln Loud with the primary spirit of Sonic the Hedgehog, an additional power is added and usually nothing more.
