Description
My first successful Sonic sprite.
After looking at a tutorial & looking at a few other sprites for reference, I finally made my first sprite.
Finally updated it with shading & shining, along with tweaking the face & shoes, though I'm still working on it; will take criticism & other suggestions to fix/tweak the sprite (also will attempt 24 or 32 bit with this one since my other Sonic sprite will most likely remain 16-bit).
If no mistakes, I will then focus on making my first sprite sheet based on this.
The reason why there are so many versions is because there are people who do like either the original or the improvements. Also still working on contrast & making it look better. Please give feedback so I would know how to make this look better.
The Sonic ModGen sheet, along with the custom palette (also updated *EDIT* Now edited to match Classic Sonic from Generations), belong to Deebs (with RaccoonShinobi & Hurricane360 as contributors). The Sonic the Hedgehog sprite & character belong to Sega & Sonic Team.

The little one looks epic. The big resized one meh. Mixture of different sized pixels makes it look weird.

Yup,I think the whole sprite is way too tall,specially when compared to the original genesis sprite.

Thanks. Though I do ask a favor: can you take a closer look & give some feedback on what I need to fix please? I just need any feedback so I can improve them (aiming for very smooth animation like the Sonic 2 Beta jogging sprite animation).

I just realized the eyes look creepy. He looks kinda psycho with pupils that small xD
But then again, I also just realized all these sprites were too small. They're like Sonic Advance/Battle/Rush small! The genesis sprites I just remembered were like 4 or 5 times larger! o.o

Yeah! Like the sprites are all slightly bigger than my cursor but in the genesis games they were like as big as my thumb! xD

Face and spines look good on the sideview sprite.
Only critique I have is that the sideview head appears flat compared to the average heads.
Try this:
Using the average head, remove the spines, eyes and muzzle.
It should leave you with a complete blue circular shape of the head.
Copy and paste the side-view face and ears over the right side of the circular shape.
Then paste the spines of either the original side-view head or the standard head (whichever looks the best) on the left side of the left side of the blue circular head shape.
You may need to rework the shines and shading but it should give you a better head-shape for the side-view head sprite.
Just a sidenote
Deebs should be the one fully credited for Sonic's sheet .
Hurricane360 ('Nightmare' in MFS) just dropped a few pieces in Sonic and a few other sheets (alt. pallette, heads-that I revamped-) along with the other contributors.
I put him in Credits instead of Contributors by mistake...
As for me, I'm just taking over the projects for Deebs in MFS since she doesn't go there anymore.
Again, Deebs deserved to credited.
