Haha, I did something I've never done before and I gotta say I had quite fun doing this! I ordered a commission from Lilgrimmapple and with permission she granted me to color in the lovely lineart she did for me! This'll probably be the only time I do this sort of thing, but we shall see what happens.

Now, you probably might be wondering what in the name of Nocturna is happening here? Well, allow me to explain myself. This is my OC interacting with Lilgrimmapple's design of Phoenix and you might also be wondering how can these two have met? Remember the short story I wrote for Lil's writing contest down below?

Short Story- Contest #9A Dream of the PastBy: FirecrackerwolfWe are such stuff as dreams are made on; and our little life is rounded with a sleep~ William Shakespeare* * *Everything was quiet, too quiet for that matter. The jungle that would usually be filled with the cries and howls of wild animals was now dead silent, about as dead silent as the rodent Goth killed and ripped apart to eat before he and Melody had to get some sleep. It was as if anything was afraid to even make a teensy weensy sound, especially Melody for the matter.A while ago, Melody and Goth found a hollow of a tree to roost in that was big enough for both of them to sleep in and Melody was uncomfortable by the fact that she would be sleeping near this beast-like bat. She kept at a far enough distance from Goth as much as possible as she didn’t want the slightest claw of his to even graze at her fur. It was bad enough that his teeth sunk very deep into her fur and skin when he ripped that silver band off her months ago and he was the main reason for the scar that remained on her forearm. He even wanted to kill her and her friends and the thought of even being slaughtered by that jungle King gave Melody the shivers.Even as it did she still remembered that conversation she and Goth had after she flew away from the celebration that the Bloodwings hosted since they thought that Melody and Goth were Nocturna and Zotz. She knew that Goth and Throbb only did what they did because they were only trying to survive so they could go home. Melody still felt bad though for she still never had considered the fact that Goth and Throbb needed all the meat they could get otherwise they would’ve died of starvation and the coldness for the matter. They did eat meat but that didn’t mean that they were heartless creatures with no souls.They were living beings with flowing dark red blood coursing through their bodies to their beating hearts.Melody was having a hard time trying to get some sleep. A lot of things were on her mind from these past few days that have happened ever since the incident at the bat conservation. It was all happening so fast for her it was like she might’ve been traveling through time instead. She was getting stressed by everything so far that she felt like her hair was going to fall off her head. Trying to survive out in this jungle was proving to be more difficult than when she was trying to survive that whole ordeal in the north. Everything was so big here and everything that seemed to be big was ready to have Melody for a snack but her pendant has practically been saving her life a lot of times… Even Goth had been saving her here and there and there were moments when Melody had to save Goth as well.She was so confused by Goth.A warm gust of wind was sent brushing against Melody and Goth but they didn’t think much of it as Goth was sleeping on the ceiling upside down with his back turned to Melody while Melody was still lost in her thoughts, looking at her pendant she was clutching. This pendant could do a lot and it was very powerful but yet it couldn’t get that band off of Goth… Why wouldn’t it come off? She remembered all too well how that band was on Goth and that wasn’t even how a band was supposed to be placed on a bat. It was secured tight to him like superglue was holding it in place. She also remembered that strange incident that occurred when the pendant was trying to get that band off of Goth… It was all so weird but confusing at the same time.For someone that’s been helping bats for a long time, Melody felt like she failed in helping the King of the Vampyrum take off the one thing he despised. Sure, she did hate him but he was put through a lot to make him despise not only the band he now carries on his strong arm but her kind as well. It was clear in his very sharp green eyes that he wouldn’t be forgiving Melody’s kind anytime soon. It was even clear to tell after he passed the law that his kind could hunt humans if they ever came across one.Sometimes Melody wondered if Goth even was thankful to her after what she did for him. At one point he acts like a nice gentleman to her but then the next point he acts like a brutal monster wanting to rip her heart out. Did he have mood swings or what?As she was thinking, she started to hear what sounded like mumbling and that got her out of her world of thoughts. At first, she thought she was hearing things because she hadn’t fallen asleep yet but she was starting to hear it more clearly now. She turned her head and when she did she saw Goth moving his upper body and arms some as he was still sleeping. He was mumbling some things that Melody tried to pick up on but Melody couldn’t understand what he was saying.Ever so quietly, Melody moved closer to Goth and as she did she started to realize that Goth was dreaming. She thought of waking him up as she stopped somewhat near him but she didn’t want to get Goth angry… However, she was curious about knowing what Goth was dreaming about. She had the power to go through anyone’s dreams and she thought it wouldn’t hurt to check out Goth’s dream. It’s not like he would know about this power anyways, as long as she was careful.Making sure that Goth was still asleep and dreaming, Melody then closed her hazel eyes and started to imagine the King in her mind with his crimson red hair, his fierce-looking green eyes, his large purple wings that looked like a cape, his muscular body, and his face looking more of that as a beast rather than of a bat. She did as Nocturna told her to do when it came to traveling through dreams and she did it many times when she wanted to talk to Shade in his dreams so she couldn’t see why she couldn’t do the same in Goth’s dream. It shouldn’t be complicated as she was getting used to it by now.* * *It seemed like she was immediately transported to where she wanted to go to because Melody then opened her eyes to find herself in the jungle and not in the roost she and Goth were in. The stars were twinkling like diamonds and Melody thought she could also make out a couple of constellations in the sky. It was a very gorgeous night but the only thing was she couldn’t see anyone in sight; not even Goth for that matter.She was standing on a canopy and right before her very eyes, she could see a river. It looked pretty dangerous to be nearby and it almost looked like the rapid river that Melody managed to get herself caught in. She would’ve drowned that day if Goth hadn’t saved her in time.Melody was now starting to wonder what Goth’s dream was about but before she could even wonder more she started to hear what sounded like shrieking and she turned her head and her eyes widened when she saw a scarlet macaw flying towards her and it seemed to look like it was in fear. Even though she knew she was in a dream she yelped and covered her head as she closed her eyes tightly and as she did the macaw flew over her. She looked up to see if she managed to dodge but she yelped once more when she saw something else flying towards her and she covered her head and closed her eyes once more.“You’re not getting away that easily!”“Huh?” Melody looked up and she saw that same macaw being chased by… Goth?It looked like it was Goth only this Vampyrum bat looked like he was a teenager. He had his hungry eyes locked on that macaw as he was chasing it around near the river. The macaw looked like it was getting out of breath and the more out of breath that macaw was the more closer the teenage bat was to catch it.Melody watched as the cat and mouse chase happened and as she did she didn’t want to see that macaw get killed and at the same time she hoped that no one got hurt, especially not in the river. The river did look dangerous with it going very fast, sharp rocks in certain areas near and in the river, and hidden debris that it was so hard to see. Melody was now getting worried.Then, at the corner of Melody’s eye, she saw a figure fly by her and she looked to see a strong-looking female Vampyrum bat and she looked gorgeous… She even had some features like that teenage bat. She had frizzy crimson red hair, dark purple wings, with her fur having a mix of purple and grey, a brownish looking mane, and intense green eyes. She was also wearing some hoop earrings that were light and dark green and it was still quite something for Melody that some of the animals had some things like the humans did.The female Vampyrum looked very worried as she was flying in the direction in which the teenage Vampyrum was chasing that macaw. As she was flying she didn’t stop for a breather as her eyes were only focused on the teenage bat. “Goth!”The teenage bat that was Goth all the sudden dove towards the macaw with his clawed feet extended towards it and it looked like Goth had it but the macaw managed to outsmart him by veering sharply to right and when it did, Goth’s clawed feet smashed to the ground that looked very muddy and when he did he then slipped and splashed into the water.Melody’s eyes widened and she gasped when she saw Goth being dragged down the river at a very fast rate. Goth was trying to keep his head above the water and swim but the water kept dragging him underwater and he was shouting in fear and coughing out water at the same time. He looked like a wet dog as he was being dragged away and underwater… Just like that incident with Melody.The female bat that Melody now assumed was Goth’s Mother and the Queen started to fly after Goth as fast as she could and Melody didn’t waste a moment and flew after the two. As Melody was flying after them she heard the Queen once more. “Goth!”As Goth was being dragged away and trying to keep to the surface he tried to look up at his Mom that was on her way to rescue him. “Mom!”Goth was then dragged underwater once more and as all this was happening Melody was watching this all in fear. She actually feared for Goth at this moment and she wanted to go help him but with her being in Goth’s dream she couldn’t do that but could only watch as all this was happening. Her heart was beating at a fast rate as it might burst out of her chest at any moment. She could only hope that Goth would get rescued.All of the sudden, Melody saw Queen Mayara dive into the water after Goth and as she did she continued to fly and watch what was happening. Teenage Goth and the Queen popped back to the surface with them now being wet and the Queen was holding onto her son tightly while trying to swim them to land as they were now both coughing out the water that was also making the insides of their snouts feel like they were burning like a bonfire was being made in them. The Queen saw the first thing she could grab and she immediately held onto it which was a slippery rock but she held onto it the best she could while she kept her arm around Goth. Melody stopped in her tracks and saw as the Queen was trying to pull both her and Goth out of the water but as she tried to do that she almost lost her grip on the rock but she grabbed hold of it once more.Melody saw that the Queen couldn’t hold onto the rock much longer as she was slowly losing her grip on it. She was shouting in her head to go help them but she couldn’t help because this was all a dream and she was not the hero in this dream. This was a dream in which she couldn’t change anything.Queen Mayara looked at Goth as she still kept on trying to hang onto the rock. “Suyos, I’m going to get you to this rock, and when I do try to climb on it and when you do quickly get to land!”Young Goth looked at his Mom still in fear. “What about you?!”“Do not worry about me! Just do as I say, please!”Goth looked like he wanted to protest but he didn’t get the chance to as the Queen was trying to drag Goth through the water towards the rock with all the strength she had. If Melody could she would’ve crossed her fingers but with how intense this all was she was too worried to even do that, even as she was airborne. It almost felt like dramatic music could’ve been playing at this moment and it was almost as if Melody was watching an extreme movie.With enough strength in the Queen, she managed to drag Goth to the rock and when she did, Goth immediately grabbed onto it and tried to pull himself up and as he did, the Queen also tried to help him up the best she could. When Goth was on the rock he almost fell back into the water but kept his balance in place by some miracle and when he did he jumped. Time seemed to have gone by slowly as teenage Goth jumped to land and Melody’s heartbeats all the sudden felt like they stopped as she watched with her eyes widened and her breath was stuck in her throat as if her breathing was stolen from her.Crash!Teenage Goth rolled onto land with an oof. However, one other bat hadn’t made it onto land yet. Goth looked over his shoulder and saw his Mom trying to pull herself up but that didn’t work as debris was in the water and the debris crashed into her lower body and her hands then slipped from the rock she was hanging onto and the sharpness of it cut her hands badly and she was then dragged underwater by the river. Melody gasped when she saw the Queen being dragged underwater as the drama wasn’t over.“MOM!” Goth shouted in fear as he then tried to search for her in the river on land without splashing in it again.The Queen didn’t pop back up and as the minutes passed there were no signs of the jungle Queen. What was left behind from her was the dark red blood on the sharp rock… She wasn’t seen again.Goth continued to call for his Mother and the more he did the quieter he got and slowly looked to be on the verge of tears. Melody’s heart ached and she felt tears spilling from her eyes as she watched teenage Goth looking for his Mother. This was all just too heartbreaking.The little Prince then got on his knees as he stared into the water. “Mom…” Tears then came out of his eyes and he started to cry with his face covered up on the ground.Melody felt more tears come out of her eyes as she watched teenage Goth grieving for his Mother. She wanted to go over there and hug teenage Goth but with her being in a dream this Goth could not see her nor feel her… Not this Goth at least. But perhaps the older Goth needed it.* * *She awoke back in the roost and when she did she could still feel tears coming down her cheeks. I… can’t believe it… She thought shocked and sad at the sad time.Melody then heard Goth and she saw him mumbling more loudly as his eyes were squeezed while shut and looked like he was hyperventilating. He was still in his bad dream and was now thrashing his winged arms around. Melody had to get out of the way one time as Goth was close to cutting her chest open and that almost gave Melody a heart attack. Melody knew that waking Goth up might get him mad but she didn’t want him to continue seeing that horrible dream she witnessed herself.Without wasting a moment, Melody got to Goth once more and started to shake him awake. “Goth, wake up. You’re dreaming.”At that, Goth shot opened his eyes and he was breathing hard. Melody saw that Goth’s eyes looked red and his hands were shaking. He looked terrible and Melody could understand why. She then didn’t hesitate to hug Goth as he needed some sort of comfort after that dream he was put through like it was a torture someone gave to him. Melody could feel how strong Goth was and as she touched him she felt a weird feeling in her stomach as this may have looked weird but as she was also touching him she felt some sort of feeling that was dying to just get to her but Melody pushed that away as that didn’t matter at this moment. What mattered was trying to comfort Goth.As Melody hugged Goth, Goth’s shaky hands started to stop shaking as he felt warmth course through him. He slowly looked next to him to see the human bat hugging him. This surprised him as they didn’t have a good relationship but yet she was hugging him? Why on earth would she even want to hug him?The tropical King wanted to yell at Melody to stop hugging him but he couldn’t bring himself to do that. For some reason he actually wanted Melody to continue to hug him as his life depended on it. He didn’t want her to stop.The dream he had was too unbearable for him and seeing that exact event he experienced when he was younger brought back too many bad memories that he didn’t want to see again. He wanted them to be gone as it crushed him more than anything. These exact memories were some of the reasons why he changed a lot. Was it for the best? That didn’t matter as he was shouting in his head so that these memories could go away but they kept on coming back like they wanted him to suffer more and more until he couldn’t take it anymore.Melody kept on hugging and caressing Goth as he was in his thoughts. That dream though… Melody came to realize that it was a dream of Goth’s past. She now felt even more terrible about herself. She made fun of Goth for being afraid of the water when she found out about his fear and now realizing why he was afraid of the water made her feel like she was a monster to him.How awful it must’ve been for Goth when that day happened and Melody couldn’t have even imagined how much Goth had been through. It must’ve traumatized him for a very long time. Melody felt like she shouldn’t have invaded Goth’s dream but in a way, she was glad that she did because she now knew the truth of why Goth was actually afraid of the water. She would not say to Goth of how she now knew of Goth’s fear; she would let Goth tell her himself when he was ready to about how he got his fear and such… if he ever would.“You’re okay… You’re okay,” Melody softly said to Goth as she continued to hug and caress him.Goth slowly looked at Melody using only his eyes and when he did his eyes did not have any anger in them towards Melody. Instead, they showed that not only was he tired but they also showed freight and confusion. The only time Melody’s seen Goth in fear was back in the mines when Shade tricked him but this sort of fear was different in a way that this one made Melody feel sympathy towards the giant.“Why?” Goth managed to say.They now made eye contact and when they did, Melody felt her heart skip a beat but at Goth’s question, she then furrowed her brow confused. “Why what?”“Why are you doing this?”After all Goth put her through she could understand his confusion. Right now the past didn’t matter now. “I help bats remember? It’s my job to make sure that they are alright, even the ones that don’t look like they deserve the help…”Melody decided to help Goth get back to sleep by doing something that she knew would help him go back to sleep. Did she care if Goth would appreciate it? No. She helped bats and she would even help this bat that wanted to kill her. It was the right thing to do after all.“Dream by night, wish by day. Love begins this way. Night’s a friend with love to send. Each new day.”As Melody was singing, neither she nor Goth realized that Melody’s silvery underwings were beginning to faintly emit a soft glow as they began to take the image of the night sky. Melody was focused on her singing and getting Goth to go back to sleep while Goth couldn’t help but be enchanted by Melody’s singing. She sang him to sleep once and now she was doing it again. Her singing was peaceful, soothing, and seemed to be like magic and Goth didn’t want her to stop as well as the hugging and caressing. The singing was taking Goth away from those awful memories and it was like a medicine to him.“Bless your heart. Bless your soul. Let your dreams come true. Future songs and flying dreams wait for you.”While Melody was singing, Goth was getting sleepier now as he let out a little yawn. So graceful was the singing… So innocent it was… So beautiful…“Love it seems made flying dreams, so hearts could soar. Heaven sent these wings were meant to prove once more that love is the key.”Goth’s eyes began to close some more and he wanted to keep them open and continue to watch and hear Melody sing. However, sleep came to him that fast that he didn’t even realize it. At least he could sleep without any bad dreams to wake him up again.Seeing that Goth had closed his eyes this made Melody smile weakly. “As you wish as you will. Dream a flying start. Love and care. The power’s there. Trust your heart. Trust your heart.”When Melody finished, Goth was in deep sleep now as the glow from under Melody’s wings was gone now. Melody didn’t regret what she did for Goth. It was her job to help bats and what she did proved that she really did care. Whatever would happen tomorrow she would prepare for it.Melody hesitated but then she gave Goth a soft kiss on his cheek. It was not to tease Goth like she did last time; it was more of a friendly gesture. “Sweet dreams, Goth.”At that Melody then started to slowly fall asleep and as she did she was still hugging Goth. Whether she realized that or not she was glad that she managed to help Goth out at least, even if it wasn’t helping to get his band off. She felt better now that she helped a bat once more.* * *Unbeknownst to Melody and Goth, Phoenix saw everything and she was furious as her eyes were now bloody red with no pupils to be seen in them. Once more that wretched little creature was getting Goth more drawn to her and this made Phoenix want to drive her sharp claws straight into Melody’s heart and watch that pathetic broad die in front of her very eyes. Slow and painful death was what Phoenix liked to see as a pool of blood was made. Unfortunately, she couldn’t because of that stupid pendant!Phoenix would do anything to kill Melody herself and if getting rid of that pendant would be the only way to kill Melody then that is exactly what she intended on doing, but how exactly? She couldn’t touch it of course as that would only hurt Phoenix. That pendant was very powerful and without it, Melody would then be an easy enough target to kill like a lot of other prey that was easy enough to hunt down.This was war.As Phoenix was thinking an idea then came to mind and when it did her bloodshot red eyes went back to their normal color as she then smiled wickedly with her obsidian teeth showing. Oh yes, it was just perfect. She was confident that her plan would work. “You may be safe now, but in the end, no one will be able to save you. Not even that pendant will save you anymore.”She then chuckled and as did she puffed into black smoke and headed back towards the cave of Xibalba with her devilish plan in mind and if it would succeed, Phoenix would be the happiest devil around.

Fun fact, I actually thought about writing out these two interacting in that short story, but I decided against it mostly because I didn't want to look like I was promoting my Silverwing fanfic, but by golly this idea would still not leave me alone. So basically, my OC and another OC of mine ended up in Melody's world and when that happens Kass so happens to meet Melody and I think you pretty much get the idea of where I'm going with this. So, I decided why not share what I decided to leave out in that short story? Look out gang, 'cause I got something else I'm about to post as far as this drawing goes

She looked up to see if she managed to dodge but she yelped once more when she saw something else flying towards her and she covered her head and closed her eyes once more.“You’re not getting away that easily!”“Huh?” Melody looked up and she saw that same macaw being chased by… Goth?It looked like it was Goth only this Vampyrum bat looked like he was a teenager. He had his hungry eyes locked on that macaw as he was chasing it around near the river. The macaw looked like it was getting out of breath and the more out of breath that macaw was the more closer the teenage bat was to catch it.Melody watched as the cat and mouse chase happened and as she did she didn’t want to see that macaw get killed and at the same time she hoped that no one got hurt, especially not in the river. The river did look dangerous with it going very fast, sharp rocks in certain areas near and in the river, and hidden debris that it was so hard to see. Melody was now getting worried.Then, at the corner of Melody’s eye, she saw a figure fly by her and she looked to see a strong-looking female Vampyrum bat and she looked gorgeous… She even had some features like that teenage bat. She had frizzy crimson red hair, dark purple wings, with her fur having a mix of purple and grey, a brownish looking mane, and intense green eyes. She was also wearing some hoop earrings that were light and dark green and it was still quite something for Melody that some of the animals had some things like the humans did.The female Vampyrum looked very worried as she was flying in the direction in which the teenage Vampyrum was chasing that macaw. As she was flying she didn’t stop for a breather as her eyes were only focused on the teenage bat. “Goth!”The teenage bat that was Goth all the sudden dove towards the macaw with his clawed feet extended towards it and it looked like Goth had it but the macaw managed to outsmart him by veering sharply to right and when it did, Goth’s clawed feet smashed to the ground that looked very muddy and when he did he then slipped and splashed into the water.Melody’s eyes widened and she gasped when she saw Goth being dragged down the river at a very fast rate. Goth was trying to keep his head above the water and swim but the water kept dragging him underwater and he was shouting in fear and coughing out water at the same time. He looked like a wet dog as he was being dragged away and underwater… Just like that incident with Melody.The female bat that Melody now assumed was Goth’s Mother and the Queen started to fly after Goth as fast as she could and Melody didn’t waste a moment and flew after the two. As Melody was flying after them she heard the Queen once more. “Goth!”As Goth was being dragged away and trying to keep to the surface he tried to look up at his Mom that was on her way to rescue him. “Mom!”Goth was then dragged underwater once more and as all this was happening Melody was watching this all in fear. She actually feared for Goth at this moment and she wanted to go help him but with her being in Goth’s dream she couldn’t do that but could only watch as all this was happening. Her heart was beating at a fast rate as it might burst out of her chest at any moment. She could only hope that Goth would get rescued.All of the sudden, Melody saw Queen Mayara dive into the water after Goth and as she did she continued to fly and watch what was happening. Teenage Goth and the Queen popped back to the surface with them now being wet and the Queen was holding onto her son tightly while trying to swim them to land as they were now both coughing out the water that was also making the insides of their snouts feel like they were burning like a bonfire was being made in them. The Queen saw the first thing she could grab and she immediately held onto it which was a slippery rock but she held onto it the best she could while she kept her arm around Goth. Melody stopped in her tracks and saw as the Queen was trying to pull both her and Goth out of the water but as she tried to do that she almost lost her grip on the rock but she grabbed hold of it once more.Melody saw that the Queen couldn’t hold onto the rock much longer as she was slowly losing her grip on it. She was shouting in her head to go help them but she couldn’t help because this was all a dream and she was not the hero in this dream. This was a dream in which she couldn’t change anything.Queen Mayara looked at Goth as she still kept on trying to hang onto the rock. “Suyos, I’m going to get you to this rock, and when I do try to climb on it and when you do quickly get to land!”Young Goth looked at his Mom still in fear. “What about you?!”“Do not worry about me! Just do as I say, please!”Goth looked like he wanted to protest but he didn’t get the chance to as the Queen was trying to drag Goth through the water towards the rock with all the strength she had. If Melody could she would’ve crossed her fingers but with how intense this all was she was too worried to even do that, even as she was airborne. It almost felt like dramatic music could’ve been playing at this moment and it was almost as if Melody was watching an extreme movie.With enough strength in the Queen, she managed to drag Goth to the rock and when she did, Goth immediately grabbed onto it and tried to pull himself up and as he did, the Queen also tried to help him up the best she could. When Goth was on the rock he almost fell back into the water but kept his balance in place by some miracle and when he did he jumped. Time seemed to have gone by slowly as teenage Goth jumped to land and Melody’s heartbeats all the sudden felt like they stopped as she watched with her eyes widened and her breath was stuck in her throat as if her breathing was stolen from her.Crash!Teenage Goth rolled onto land with an oof. However, one other bat hadn’t made it onto land yet. Goth looked over his shoulder and saw his Mom trying to pull herself up but that didn’t work as debris was in the water and the debris crashed into her lower body and her hands then slipped from the rock she was hanging onto and the sharpness of it cut her hands badly and she was then dragged underwater by the river. Melody gasped when she saw the Queen being dragged underwater as the drama wasn’t over.“MOM!” Goth shouted in fear as he then tried to search for her in the river on land without splashing in it again.The Queen didn’t pop back up and as the minutes passed there were no signs of the jungle Queen. What was left behind from her was the dark red blood on the sharp rock… She wasn’t seen again.Goth continued to call for his Mother and the more he did the quieter he got and slowly looked to be on the verge of tears. Melody’s heart ached and she felt tears spilling from her eyes as she watched teenage Goth looking for his Mother. This was all just too heartbreaking.The little Prince then got on his knees as he stared into the water. “Mom…” Tears then came out of his eyes and he started to cry with his face covered up on the ground.Melody felt more tears come out of her eyes as she watched teenage Goth grieving for his Mother. She wanted to go over there and hug teenage Goth but with her being in a dream this Goth could not see her nor feel her… Not this Goth at least. But perhaps the older Goth needed it.* * *She awoke back in the roost and when she did she could still feel tears coming down her cheeks. I… can’t believe it… She thought shocked and sad at the sad time.Melody then heard Goth and she saw him mumbling more loudly as his eyes were squeezed while shut and looked like he was hyperventilating. He was still in his bad dream and was now thrashing his winged arms around. Melody had to get out of the way one time as Goth was close to cutting her chest open and that almost gave Melody a heart attack. Melody knew that waking Goth up might get him mad but she didn’t want him to continue seeing that horrible dream she witnessed herself.Without wasting a moment, Melody got to Goth once more and started to shake him awake. “Goth, wake up. You’re dreaming.”At that, Goth shot opened his eyes and he was breathing hard. Melody saw that Goth’s eyes looked red and his hands were shaking. He looked terrible and Melody could understand why. She then didn’t hesitate to hug Goth as he needed some sort of comfort after that dream he was put through like it was a torture someone gave to him. Melody could feel how strong Goth was and as she touched him she felt a weird feeling in her stomach as this may have looked weird but as she was also touching him she felt some sort of feeling that was dying to just get to her but Melody pushed that away as that didn’t matter at this moment. What mattered was trying to comfort Goth.As Melody hugged Goth, Goth’s shaky hands started to stop shaking as he felt warmth course through him. He slowly looked next to him to see the human bat hugging him. This surprised him as they didn’t have a good relationship but yet she was hugging him? Why on earth would she even want to hug him?The tropical King wanted to yell at Melody to stop hugging him but he couldn’t bring himself to do that. For some reason he actually wanted Melody to continue to hug him as his life depended on it. He didn’t want her to stop.The dream he had was too unbearable for him and seeing that exact event he experienced when he was younger brought back too many bad memories that he didn’t want to see again. He wanted them to be gone as it crushed him more than anything. These exact memories were some of the reasons why he changed a lot. Was it for the best? That didn’t matter as he was shouting in his head so that these memories could go away but they kept on coming back like they wanted him to suffer more and more until he couldn’t take it anymore.Melody kept on hugging and caressing Goth as he was in his thoughts. That dream though… Melody came to realize that it was a dream of Goth’s past. She now felt even more terrible about herself. She made fun of Goth for being afraid of the water when she found out about his fear and now realizing why he was afraid of the water made her feel like she was a monster to him.How awful it must’ve been for Goth when that day happened and Melody couldn’t have even imagined how much Goth had been through. It must’ve traumatized him for a very long time. Melody felt like she shouldn’t have invaded Goth’s dream but in a way, she was glad that she did because she now knew the truth of why Goth was actually afraid of the water. She would not say to Goth of how she now knew of Goth’s fear; she would let Goth tell her himself when he was ready to about how he got his fear and such… if he ever would.“You’re okay… You’re okay,” Melody softly said to Goth as she continued to hug and caress him.Goth slowly looked at Melody using only his eyes and when he did his eyes did not have any anger in them towards Melody. Instead, they showed that not only was he tired but they also showed freight and confusion. The only time Melody’s seen Goth in fear was back in the mines when Shade tricked him but this sort of fear was different in a way that this one made Melody feel sympathy towards the giant.“Why?” Goth managed to say.They now made eye contact and when they did, Melody felt her heart skip a beat but at Goth’s question, she then furrowed her brow confused. “Why what?”“Why are you doing this?”After all Goth put her through she could understand his confusion. Right now the past didn’t matter now. “I help bats remember? It’s my job to make sure that they are alright, even the ones that don’t look like they deserve the help…”Melody decided to help Goth get back to sleep by doing something that she knew would help him go back to sleep. Did she care if Goth would appreciate it? No. She helped bats and she would even help this bat that wanted to kill her. It was the right thing to do after all.“Dream by night, wish by day. Love begins this way. Night’s a friend with love to send. Each new day.”As Melody was singing, neither she nor Goth realized that Melody’s silvery underwings were beginning to faintly emit a soft glow as they began to take the image of the night sky. Melody was focused on her singing and getting Goth to go back to sleep while Goth couldn’t help but be enchanted by Melody’s singing. She sang him to sleep once and now she was doing it again. Her singing was peaceful, soothing, and seemed to be like magic and Goth didn’t want her to stop as well as the hugging and caressing. The singing was taking Goth away from those awful memories and it was like a medicine to him.“Bless your heart. Bless your soul. Let your dreams come true. Future songs and flying dreams wait for you.”While Melody was singing, Goth was getting sleepier now as he let out a little yawn. So graceful was the singing… So innocent it was… So beautiful…“Love it seems made flying dreams, so hearts could soar. Heaven sent these wings were meant to prove once more that love is the key.”Goth’s eyes began to close some more and he wanted to keep them open and continue to watch and hear Melody sing. However, sleep came to him that fast that he didn’t even realize it. At least he could sleep without any bad dreams to wake him up again.Seeing that Goth had closed his eyes this made Melody smile weakly. “As you wish as you will. Dream a flying start. Love and care. The power’s there. Trust your heart. Trust your heart.”When Melody finished, Goth was in deep sleep now as the glow from under Melody’s wings was gone now. Melody didn’t regret what she did for Goth. It was her job to help bats and what she did proved that she really did care. Whatever would happen tomorrow she would prepare for it.Melody hesitated but then she gave Goth a soft kiss on his cheek. It was not to tease Goth like she did last time; it was more of a friendly gesture. “Sweet dreams, Goth.”At that Melody then started to slowly fall asleep and as she did she was still hugging Goth. Whether she realized that or not she was glad that she managed to help Goth out at least, even if it wasn’t helping to get his band off. She felt better now that she helped a bat once more.* * *Unbeknownst to Melody and Goth, Phoenix saw everything and she was furious as her eyes were now bloody red with no pupils to be seen in them. Once more that wretched little creature was getting Goth more drawn to her and this made Phoenix want to drive her sharp claws straight into Melody’s heart and watch that pathetic broad die in front of her very eyes. Slow and painful death was what Phoenix liked to see as a pool of blood was made. Unfortunately, she couldn’t because of that stupid pendant!Phoenix would do anything to kill Melody herself and if getting rid of that pendant would be the only way to kill Melody then that is exactly what she intended on doing, but how exactly? She couldn’t touch it of course as that would only hurt Phoenix. That pendant was very powerful and without it, Melody would then be an easy enough target to kill like a lot of other prey that was easy enough to hunt down.This was war.As Phoenix was thinking an idea then came to mind and when it did her bloodshot red eyes went back to their normal color as she then smiled wickedly with her obsidian teeth showing. Oh yes, it was just perfect. She was confident that her plan would work. “You may be safe now, but in the end, no one will be able to save you. Not even that pendant will save you anymore.”She then chuckled and as did she puffed into black smoke and headed back towards the cave of Xibalba with her devilish plan in mind and if it would succeed, Phoenix would be the happiest devil around.

Fun fact, I actually thought about writing out these two interacting in that short story, but I decided against it mostly because I didn't want to look like I was promoting my Silverwing fanfic, but by golly this idea would still not leave me alone. So basically, my OC and another OC of mine ended up in Melody's world and when that happens Kass so happens to meet Melody and I think you pretty much get the idea of where I'm going with this. So, I decided why not share what I decided to leave out in that short story? Look out gang, 'cause I got something else I'm about to post as far as this drawing goes
