Description
This is kind of different from my regular stuff. Then again not so different.I've been so busy lately I've hardly had time to draw, so I don't know whether this is finished, but I guess that it is ... XD
Anyways, inspired by Monster Hunter and Okami
Alcohol based markers and coloured pencils on A3 bristol board

Awesome! I thought of Monster Hunter as soon as I saw the thumbnail. I can see where your inspiration came from.

Very nice! ^^
This kind of reminds me of coming back from a quest from an rpg, except in my case has my mage in ghost form (Damn you poison attacks! >.<)

The art is incredible, the butterfly simply beautiful, and I love the mountains in the back.
I have a technical nitpick. I can tell from the belt design that you wanted this to be real armor, so I thought you should know. The sword is worn A) in a scabbard and B) on the same side the shield is carried. You can only draw the sword with a free hand, and if you have little to no limb coverage with your armor (as this), then you need to protect your skin from your own weapon.
For a light cavalry soldier (implied by the plume), the sword could also go on the back.
I hope it does you some good. Congrats on the DD!

Sorry for the slow reply.
Monster Hunter is primarily a video game. There is a manga of it - Monster Hunter Orage, but I don't think it was rated particularly highly

Most of my work has a manga-esque feel to it. From years of growing up with it

The colours are so brilliant, and you did an excellent job making the traditional look good in digital!
(Mind if I ask how you manage to keep such a high quality of the image when you transfer the image into digital? Do you scan, or photograph, or do something else entirely?)

Thank you. i'm glad that you like the piece.
I use a scanner to get my work into digital format.
I only have an A4 scanner so usually I have to scan the image in sections and then stitch the parts back together on the computer.
It takes a bit of colour adjusting too, as the original scan usually looks washed out and incorrect.

Certainly welcome.
Ahh, so you stitch the pieces together and then do colour correction. That would make a lot of sense, the washed-out look tends to be the result I get a lot too. Thank you!

I really am floored at how detailed this whole piece is - from the details on the outfit, to the background, to even the little plants in the foreground! It's just jaw-dropping!
