EDIT: Gosh, I couldn't get any part of the movie, getting right back to this is a relief after I chickened out for 2 hours. Okay, previously, this was a concept done for a half-life 2 mod. What I was attempting was merely to create the atmosphere and to inspire the viewers.
The concept here is a big mech docked in a hangar inside a big cave. Simple no?

I only wish I knew how you create such work with such ease it seems. Do you start with a sketch and paint over it? And with a mouse, god, I couldnt even do the kind of stuff you do with a Stylus. Amazing work!

Well, this is a sketch. Usually, I don't have the exact concept of everything at the very beginning. All I knew then was the way (composition) how my work should look. So I started where the light source and the darker part should be. And then the mood kicks in and I started to add in little detail here and little there, over and over again, until it's done. ^^ I've been into serious digital painting for more than one year.

Anyways, the lighting in this is so cool! I like how the highlights on the shadowy mech(?) turned out. Yep, nice atmosphere in the hangar.

The reality for me: the next few step is alot of pain to paint. hehe. cuz i'd have to add in alot of detail otherwise it looks like its lacking of some nutrient. musttt... practise..moree....
