Description This is a section of the Katoomba Creek which starts after the Katoomba Falls.

After climbing over a safety fence I clambered all over these slippery rocks to search for the best perspectives.

I'm still experimenting with the new camera and haven't quite worked it all out yet.

Can you follow the flow of the water?

That is so gorgeous I want to find a waterfall to photograph one of these days... I just got back from the tulip fields on the 30th, that is the closest to heaven that I got. But waterfalls are so heavenly and peaceful to look at.

Here are my tulips:

Thank you Michelle. I really like the waterfalls as well (you have probably noticed that by now anyway) I think that I will have to start photographing something different for a while though as everyone must be getting tired of my waterfalls.

I didn't know that you had another account on here - the tulips are beautiful

I am currently kicking myself in the rear ... I was in process of transferring my tulip photos to a pen drive to my hard drive and I lost it ... arrrrgh. I am trying to find it and recover the files if it is possible. I know what a dork I am considering how g33ky I am.

I hope that you find them Michelle. You have just reminded me that I have quite a few to copy to DVD as a back-up

The water looks computer generated...?
It's very pretty. ^^

FireflyPhotosAust In reply to HopelessRomanticXIII [2009-05-02 20:16:25 +0000 UTC]

The water is definitely not computer generated. The shutter speed of 3.2 seconds was enough to blur the water.

Glad that you like it

Lovely image Malcom, I am interested to know how you got the effect of the watwer with long shutter speed with a smallish, but not very narrow, F-Number and still used ISO200? Did you use a neutral filter or was it fairly dark?

FireflyPhotosAust In reply to dougthebear [2009-05-02 20:14:50 +0000 UTC]

Thank you Doug. I used a polariser which I find really improves the colours, whilst also blocking some light.

It wasn't dark but quite shady. I had the camera set to aperture priority and I was bracketing exposures to try and see which produced the better photo.

I tried a few with ISO 100 but the shutter speed was too long and the water kept blowing out.

Thank you Robert and thanks for adding it to your favourites.

I don't see what the point is of taking a photo from the same position as everyone else and that is one of the main reasons why I climb over fences

Great Texture on the rocks, and the vegetation gives it an overwhelming sense of natural greens!

Security Fences are for chumps!

I've patched up enough wounds from various fences to know enough about them, still doesn't stop me from vaulting over them. Some of the greatest treasures are over fences... gardens, concerts, houses...

FireflyPhotosAust In reply to Feonix-Lancaster [2009-05-02 09:52:11 +0000 UTC]

It there wasn't anything good on the other side then they wouldn't erect a fence
