Well, sometimes I take the Mario fandom A BIT seriously, but when it looks like things could possibly erupt, or that the argument will clearly go nowhere, or whatnot, I usually just try to agree to disagree, and not make a big deal of things.

That's the idea! I mean, I personally dislike some stuff- yaoi and so-called Mary Sues. A lot. But y'know, for some fans, it's how they have fun and I've got no right to bag on 'em for having fun. 'Sides, if I don't like something, I don't have to look at it!

*cackles* Oh, do I ever agree with THIS! Unfortunately for me, I never really got to experience a fandom without people verbally attacking one another on almost a daily basis, seeing as while I have been into fanart and fanfiction a while the first time I ever got involved in a fandom community was here with DP.
Honestly, my first thoughts on all the fanwars were, "How dumb. So they have a different opinion then you. Welcome to real life!" Honestly, if they can get so worked up over something like this, I can only hope I'll never have to see them in real life with big real life issues.
I'm using this. Great job, it really gets right into the whole meaning of Real fandom-it's not about who's right or wrong, it's about enjoying the show and having fun with it! If everyone could understand that, it'd be a much happier fandom
I also say you submit this to the club so more fans can see it, because I KNOW that there's a lot of people out there who agree with you.

Well, I would, but it's not just about the DP fandom. It's about ALL fandoms, be it anime, Harry Potter, DP, video games, comic books, etc etc.
After all, people don't play at a park because it's safe. They play because it's fun.

You're right, this should apply for everything, shows/books/games/etc. It's a constant, where there's a group of people with a variety of different opinions who all happen to like the same thing, undoubtedly there's going to be fighting. I just meant that it'd be a good way to spread the ideal around a bit, but I've always been bad at explanations
And I like the park metaphor, one of the best I've heard so far. People are different, and they're not going to change just because 'you're right', so everyone should just GET OVER IT! FANDOM HIPPIE FOR LIFE

Yesterday I was looking at this on my own computer, now I'm looking at it on my parent's. For some reason, it's twice as dark as mine is and the screen wouldn't get any brighter, so I wouldn't have been able to read this yesterday at all.
Now it's much better and the word pop out at me.

I used Paint Shop Pro 10, which is a substantially cheaper alternative to Photoshop, but still has a lot of the same functions. And you find stamp-edge borders all over DevArt, or make your own.

I'm so using this. There are times when I rant about fandom issues and such, but I try and spend more time enjoying fandom.

Yeah, it seems to me just the better option to put energy into doing something productive than trying to take someone else down. That's why I just do not get some of these groups that are against a certain character from a show or something. I mean, why spend all that effort hating somebody when I could be putting that same effort into doing something about somebody I like?

I'm in a few anti-clubs personally, but only when I really feel something is wrong. (Christian morals + annoying fandom trends = ranting Netbug) I don't get annoyed about what's canon and stuff like that.
I also don't hate people because they have different views than me.
