So you don't always write your own formulas! It's ok I almost always use a variation of the Newton in that program!

FireLilyFractals In reply to Godwhowalksonwater [2006-03-06 16:23:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh no, I don't do any formula writing. There are so many wonderful formulas already in the Public formula file. You should do an update when you first start using the program. Go to Options and you will see where you can do an update. Get the "full collection" to start with and then you will only need to do weekly updates. I have a great respect and admiration for the wonderful formula writers we have!

I am starting to wish it was spring... but unfortunately, I don't think it is going to get about zero degrees Fahrenheit today.

But all complaints aside, I really like this fractal. The colors are so excellent, almost iridescent looking. And I love the textures! Personally, I think it would be cooler if it were not just a centered spiral, though... but the rest is excellent!

We just had a cold snap here in Texas and I am really ready for spring to arrive. It got down in the 30s and I am freezing!

Thanks for the comment! I usually try to get a spiral somewhat off center, but this one was oddly shaped and seemed to work best this way.

Heh, in Montana, 30 degrees in February is almost balmy. Silly Texans with no cold tolerance.

But I suppose it works the other way, too - if it gets above 80 degrees here, people start melting!

Oh wow.
I just LOVE how the way of colouring changes for every spiral section. Especially the texture on the top most spiral.
I think the best part of this fractal is clearly the colouring. It's so overwhelmingly good that I can't see anything else. Except those spirals.

The gradients you have used are really incredible Mary,
i admire this so much, because the gradients are a very hard
part for me the texture and the details are also exquisit and perfect.

Thank you so much! When making my gradients for colors, I use F8 mainly. It allows you to fine tune the settings for your random gradients.
