Description
I was playing Pokemon Pearl again and once more noticed a funny thing.I was in a cave and encountered a rock that needed to be moved. I had Onix and Pikachu in my group. Onix, a huge rock serpent, was not able to move the boulder as it did not know the move Strength. But my Pikachu, a small yellow rodent, knew the move and was able to move it out of the way.
So Pikachu is stronger than Onix?
....must suck, eh Onix!? XD
I was lazy making the background, so it may look a bit lame XD

Now that is out of the ordinary, not to mention insult to injury to Onix.

LOL, yeah.
In my in-progress PMD (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon) story, there's a Salamence who has Strength, yet he's loyal to and obeys his small leaders.

Awww X3 Well, big guys can be loyal too :3
I never really liked PMD... to me, the game was just awfully repetitive and monotonious, with each dungeon and cave being just the same as the previous with a bit different turns, graphics and enemies. It was just boring <:3
Too bad, since the idea to play AS a pokemon was something I always wanted

LOL, yeah.
I like the PMD series.
I even made a meme for it: [link]

That is true XD
And they can't possibly work out everything so that it would make perfect sense :3 I don't hold it against them. I just find it funny to think of them X3

If we take the attack stat as physical strength, Pikachu (base 55) really IS stronger than Onix (base 45).

lol, I have to feel sorry for Onix. I was also thinking about the other HMs in the game as well, like Cut and Fly or even Waterfall and others too.

Well...
The base Attack of Onix is 40, and Base of Pikachu is 55...
Then... Yes. Pikachu is stronger than Onix...

FireRai In reply to ichizack [2009-09-15 18:32:13 +0000 UTC]
You could think of it in that way X3
But considering Onix's and Pikachu's huge size difference, Onix's being able to lift something hald it's size would be waaaaaaay more than Pikachu doing the same X3

Well... ItΒ΄s a point.
And Onix itΒ΄s a Rock Snake, so much heavy. The for him, a single rock like that is very easy to move...
By The way, we can thanks the game progamer for this fun thing.. o/

This pic shows that pokemon is a strange place indeed! XD A place where big pokemon can (or can't, in this case) move a boulder when a 1 foot, 4 inches rodent can. XD lol

lol i know right! one can understand a Rayquaza to use something like those HM's, but a Pichu using Rock Smash when a Golem can't is just plain sad! XD

One thing that always bugged me about places you needed HMs to reach, was that the trainers there never had pokemon that knew the required HM moves. I guess a swimmer or hiker is understandable, but when you see a picnicker or a bug catcher behind a pile of rocks or at the top of a cliff, it's kinda silly.
No wonder they never leave their spot. They can't.

Indeed XD
Player: "Umm...why are you here?"
Bug Catcher: "Isn't it obvious? ^^....some bonehead put a huge rock to the tunnel and now I can't get out!! D8<"
