Anyone else catch this TOTAL FLCL ref from last Generator Rex?1. She has pink hair
2. She carries a guitar.
3. She hits things WITH her guitar. (That was the main thing that set me off)
The episode was "Divided by Six" it aired the 18th of March i believe.
On the left is a pic of the REAL FLCL character, whose name i don't know because it was soooo long ago since i watched it. XD On the Right is a snapshot from the GR episode. Call me crazy, but i find it odd.

Oh! To be perfectly honest, she kind of reminded me of a rocker version of Jem, from the old Hasbro series. Like she was a mixture of the Stingers, the Misfits, and Jem herself.

What?! Only one of the best cartoons during the 80s. It had a great story line. Minus the big hair the characters had ('cept when Jem was Jerrica), that's what 5 reminded me of. [link]

Like I said it has an awesome story line for its time. They used to show it on MTV and USA back in the day. The storyline is so complex, you'll just have to read it for yourself and the characters. [link]
If you like music, drama, adventure, romance, and blending of culture, this series (3 seasons) has it all. When they play certain songs, they play it out like it's a music video. Just think of her as a MUCH better version of Hannah Montana. The series does have some occasional cartoon mistakes because is clunky (not as smooth like GR or in the Jem intro) but it's really neat for its day.

yeah even though she was english with an english accent, she is so much like Haruko!
I was so screaming (in my head because my parents were around haha) "Oh My God! She looks just like Haruko!" I seriously think that she just came from an english anime cosplay convention or something and was just dressed like that when she had to fight... or Man of Action got inspired by Haruko from FLCL! haha! that's my explanation lol!

I believe it's a reference.
It's pretty clear MoA takes a lot of influence from anime. It's not completely unjustified to think they were just giving homage to FLCL, or Gainax, for that matter.
