is a trendsetter! XD She made an Inuyasha piece called "Kagome Is", which is not only well-drawn and funny, but supports one of my favorite things--canon. Firestar loves canon and will always support that which is ACTUALLY IN CHARACTER. Anyway, the idea was contagious and other artists made similar pieces for other Inuyasha characters. Eventually, it spread to other fandoms, such as Metroid and The Phantom of the Opera. I believe is doing a Danny Phantom piece, and she was nice enough to point me in the direction of 's "Character Is" journal, where she graciously leaves the project open to anyone who wants to participate. That can be found here: [link]So here's my "Sam Is" piece. I think Sam is a really cool character, so hooray for her. I also think canon is awesome. Hooray for canon! *throws confetti*.
This was done in a B pencil and colored on Photoshop Elements, and it seemed to take forever, but Firestar had plenty of time this week to work on it, since she now is distinctly lacking a job. XD
Thanks to for opening her project and giving me permission to do this, and thanks to for bringing it to my attention! Hooray for cool people. XD

Well, my Elements is not a full version of Photoshop, not by any stretch of the imagination. I'd love to get Photoshop CS, but I can't afford it as of yet. I don't, however, ink my sketches in Photoshop. I use Paint Shop Pro X for that and I like it very much because of the curve tools on the lines.

I had a trial of PSP X. I like it better than PSP 9 because it got rid of most of the bugs. Unfortunately it ran out, so I'm stuck with PSP 9. I love the curve pen tool on it though. I don't think I ever used one on the Photoshop CS trial I had. But I've heard it was more complicated than PSP's pen tool.
Anyways, I love the way you ink things. I can't ink things without it coming out weird looking in my opinion. Blergh.

I agree with the 2nd to last one! Everytime I try roleplaying everyone always trys having their oc character date Danny! Its soo annoying xP

It's very rare that I see an original character who is not obnoxious, not stunningly attractive, not a carbon copy of Danny, and not the-author-with-ghost-powers. If those characters were meant to be in the story, they'd be canon. As it is, they are not. So says the Canon Samurai.

I agree with what you put there about Sam. I'm a D/S fan, but she's not gonna go mushy gushy on him, maybe when she gets older, but not now, seriously. She's also not in love with Tucker or Dash, I mean what's up with that, next thing you know, there will be Sam and Skulker fan club, that will be the day. Nice job, fav. it.

I'm just a fan of canon, and despite Danny's being oblivious to Sam's feelings for him, she obviously cares very deeply about him. In fanfiction, you'll see all sorts and conditions of interactions and relationships, but as far as canon is concerned, Sam's heart obviously belongs to Danny.

wellll....normally if i had commented on this piece months ago, i wouldve been really offended about the 'And Sam is not gonna roll over and die because you want your OCs to date Danny......'. but im commenting now. i think DXS is cute even though Im neutral in believing in DP couples (I DONT BELIEVE IN ANY OF THEM) But I liked the comic and you are completely right about who Sam really is. So, you dislike any of the overly stereotyped OCs or just original characters in general? I'm a little bit confused about this and I was wondering if you could clear a few things up for me.

I don't dislike original characters--when they're written well and don't overshadow the canon characters. Unfortunately, that isn't often, but I have read fanfics where original characters were excellently written so I am aware that it is possible. XD

Oh, okay then. One of my least favorite out of all OC stereotypes is when they try to make the character have an extreme crush on Danny for no apparent reason, even though I've read fanfics where the DannyxOC pairing is actually pretty good, such as fanfics written by Lily Rocher for example. Overall, I favor most OCs that are completely different and have certain elements of character and origin that many fans have never thought of before, which helps to increase their originality and uniqueness, such as this one for example. [link] He's suppose to be the polar opposite of Prince Aragon Mattingly.
By the way, I've created some characters who are the son and daughter of Samantha Manson (The son is named Samael and the daughter is named Crystal, who was going to be named Alexiel). I'd just thought you would be interested in seeing them if you would like to.
