The bottom half works well, the blues have a bit more depth and the appearance of being layered. The light section at the top 'whites-out' very quickly so it has no real depth. The shapes are so sharp and because the each of the shapes is pretty well 1 shade they lack form to my eye. It makes them look quite computer generated (I realise they are not meant to reflect anything realistic), and flat.
Basically I think you need a bit more form in there, and lighting/shading that is more varied and dynamic to create interest. Perhaps some negative space, with little or no complexity would also work to highlight the better bottom blue section.

The two sides, light and dark, compliment eachother very well. I like how every dark part has a light part around it or near it, and vice versa. Wee! +fav
