Oooh very lovely work! I've always rather liked this character (I'm a sucker for blue hair hhh)~ the expressions is really nicely done here, and the love the cold tones, really add tot he atmosphere. The chains are very well-made too! Love this.

You did a great job in this one! You used the brushes really well, it doesn't look overdone, which is something easy when usign premade brushes. The shading is also bery nice

I like how this is open to many meanings. Being shackled could mean you're a prisoner of your emotions or something like that and you struggle to free yourself. Very awesome work!

Hello! I'm here from Project Comment tag game, and my keyword was "dark". Here, I think this piece not only has many shades of blue, but the character himself seems to feel anguished and sad, trapped in these chains. That certainly gives a new meaning to my keyword.
The tiles on the background, and the lighter shades coming from above, gives me the impression that he's in a pool, or somewhere underwater. Does it have some relation with the sensation of drowning?
Perhaps it was your intention to foccus on the feelings of blues, and making the composition more simple or direct... but I think you could, may, have added more details... on the chains or in the background, for example. But these are probably just my own preferences...
Now it's your time to go through ccrazyisme gallery and find something "colorful".

I used the tiles texture to make him looks on an old dungeon/room. I wanted to create "space" sensation in this illustration. Old interiors usually use small tiles, but you are not wrong if you thought he is on the pool. Because swimming pools usually use this kind of tiles ^^
His despair might similiar with drowing, because he seems lost all hopes to swim back on the surface.

Interesting drawing you´ve made here. Nice use of textures and custom brushes, they can really save lots of work!
However, you should work a bit more on the lineart and color. The lineart looks a bit wonky and plain, ever tried using bolder lines for elements closer to the viewer? It makes a HUGE difference in the depth aspect. Also, try no not limit too much things like the fur with the lineart, since it feels like you´re cutting chunks of it. Yes, it´s a hell lot of a work to make it look convincing enough, but it really pays off!
I love the fact that you used a gradient for the clothing, it looks amazing in this picture. Just don´t forget to add a bit more depth with light/shade work!

i know this feeling well :') you did a really nice job of conveying it, i like this piece a lot! there's a lot of depth just in the different variety of chains, i really like how a few are out of focus, and the composition and lines are all really well placed, and have a nice sense of motion, kind of spinning around/trapping the figure, that works really nicely. i also like what you did with the texture in the background and combining it with the graident, it adds atmosphere without taking away from the figure, which is awesome.
i think you could've done a lot more with the lighting on the figure, though. it seems like a sort of dim lighting from the top, but a stronger light with dark cast shadows would've been really effective, i think. Or backlit, so his face is in shadow, to add to the oppressive heaviness of the image, or a strong spotlight that can make faces look gaunt and sickly? kinda like this, with the heavy shadows under the eyes: www.flickr.com/photos/adlehman… just something to think about for next time. (and here are a couple more examples i found! fav.me/d2hgzqv fav.me/d5pehcb ) Even if you want to keep the soft, diffused lighting with low contrast, maybe add a splash of contrasting color somewhere to draw attention and give it a focus, for exmaple on the collar or the tears, depending on what you want to draw attention to. Varying up the line weight, making it thicker in shadowy areas and thinner in the light, would look good, and give the figure a bit more dimension.

Wonderful expression of the meaning! I can definitely feel the pain and sorrow expressed through the character and almost wish I could jump in there and help them!
I love the chains all throughout, not simply on the character. There are some in the foreground and some in the background, which helps secure the idea of being trapped. The only thing I may suggest is using a little blue on the ones further in the background and some closer in the foreground. It is like depth of field. You know when you focus your eyes on something and the things closer and farther than that object are blurry? Like that.
I also love the vastness of the background. It, once again, adds to the scene and helps show the emotion of the picture. Even the details of the belt help show how trapped the characters feel.
Something you can always consider for future projects; I know you used a chain brush but if you want to add dimension and depth to the chains, you may have to paint/shade them individually. 
Overall, a great piece. In the end, it depends on how you really want it to look and there are always plenty of resources to help you do so. Keep up the good work!!!
