Vision: Very fitting to the title and the setting, mood, and layout of the image also feels as well as looks to fit the title well. Nicely done.
Originality: A fantasy feeling setting isn't anything new yet this style does feel refreshing and original. It's unique in the sense I haven't seen this style much or often so it gives the piece a fresh energy. The character we see also has a nice unique feeling and appearance to him with the setting. Wonderfully done.
Technique: Where to start? I like how the sky as done as it's a very nice shading transition between shades of blue. The stars movement feels wonderful and also very dizzying if stared at for too long. I also like how there is a contrast yet compliment between the sky and the castle and building. There is enough of an outline with the structures you can clearly see them yet also they don't appear out of place against the sky.
I enjoy how the shading was done to add that depth and sense it is a night scene with light coming from the swirling stars and moonlight. I enjoyed seeing all the small fine details on the structures such as the windows, ledges, doorways, etc. Those small details are a very, very nice touch. The grass is also beautifully done and has a realistic feel to its texture, as does the fence our male focus is resting on.
Now onto our male focus. I love how although he's wearing blue it is still both a contrast yet compliment towards the night sky and his surroundings. I like how the shading and lighting was done to demonstrate a realistic blowing, bending, creasing, and folding of the fabric. The fur on the hood and cuffs also is nicely done. I enjoy seeing a hint of a black shirt under the collar of his outer jacket as well. The brown straps or belts on his arm and leg are a nice detail touch. His hair I enjoy the color and the detail given as it's just right for the style.
I quite enjoy his expression. A wonderful job was done conveying a serious expression or a thoughtful expression on his face. He has beautiful blue eyes which I like the highlight which makes me think he's facing towards the moon. His body position is both relaxed yet I wish to also say poised in some ways. His boots nicely done with their leather feel I got from them as well as their belt decor. The diamond jewel is also very lovely and very, very well done. It does give off a magical vibe. The hands are also well done with their finger lacing.
If I had to suggest anything to help improve then...I might suggest with the (as I'm looking at it from my screen) left coat tail to perhaps have a slight bit darker towards the ending point maybe? It would give a greater sense (maybe) of the coat being behind him and his body with the fence blocking the moonlight from lessening its darkened shadow. Other than that I cannot think of anything else I could suggest a tip with.
I also enjoy the darker mountains in the background we see through the gateways. Excellently done.
Impact: I must sadly say this didn't really tug or pull at any one emotion except wonder and feeling impressed by the beauty I was seeing. Looking at the sky is just gorgeous but I must remember not to stare or I start to feel dizzy, then sick to my stomach due to the world around me feels like it has begun to spin as well. I do wonder what he's thinking about as he looks up at the night sky with that deeply thoughtful look on his face. Wonderfully done.
Overall: A beautiful piece that I enjoyed. I enjoy the appearance of the male character as well as the lovely way the background was done. The sky is simply amazing so long as I don't look at it too long. The building is beautiful and has a wonderful color choice which as its own is unique. I enjoyed how the colors were distinct yet complimentary to each other. Other than my one suggestion listed above I am saying this is a wonderful and beautiful piece.

Cool perspective in this piece. It gives the character a lot of personality, and while we get a good view of the sky, it doesn't necessarily take the focus off of him. I like the detailed background, and the fur on the character's clothes looks really good. His hands look fantastic! And the lighting is really good as well.
I think from this angle I can see a little too much of his right eye. I also think that the wrinkles of the cloths are too soft and few and far between. There should be some more, particularly around his waist and underarms, where fabric tends to fold a lot, and make the lines or shading a bit more defined to have it stand out some more. It's the little details that help make a piece something amazing.
I'm not sure how I feel about the sky, to be honest. I kind of like it because it's unique, and yet I don't like it because it's unnatural and a bit too distracting. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a vortex or a black hole messing with time and space around it. The idea of it is really cool, but the execution didn't quite match expectations, I suppose is the best way I can put it. If it had been a more normalized star and moon sort of deal, it could've worked a lot better. You could've even kept this odd swirling effect if you made it like clusters of space dust. Perhaps something like this ?
I'll end this by saying that I think the pose is really good, his anatomy is pretty spot on, and the fish-eye detail of the fence and some of the grass helps bring together the perspective. This is a really well put together piece and it's executed pretty well, too. Awesome work!

This is an amazing drawing! I really like Draco's pose, his serious, contemplative expression, and the fact that you put him in the right corner of the piece, which allows the viewer to appreciate the star trails and architecture in all their glory. While the higher angle makes it harder for the viewer to imagine that they are part of the scene, it is very well-executed. Furthermore, your signatures are well-placed, since you put them in the area of the drawing where they would stand out the most.
Making the architecture purple was a great choice as well, as it goes well with the blue sky and Draco's clothing. That said, there are areas in the drawing where the star trails overlap with the architecture. The overlap is especially noticeable at the flags and the rightmost rooftops. If they aren't already, I would suggest putting these two elements in different layers, making sure that the architecture is fully opaque. Furthermore, I think it wouldn't hurt to add more variety to the highlights and shadows of the architecture in the background, similar to how you highlighted and shaded the bannister in the foreground. Right now, the buildings and bridge have a more spectral, intangible quality to them due to their relative monotonicity.
I hope this helps, and I look forward to seeing more excellent artworks from you e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

Aww thank you so much for the critiques and complimets, dear! I really appreciate it~ I'm happy that you like it, especially the perspective. Even though i realize that i still have many mistakes XD
Ahh i sould be more careful with the overlaping parts! I was too focus on detailing other parts, and missed that one! Thanks for noticing, i should fix that part soon!
hmm i never thought of using different shade on buildings~
Thanks again for the kind words! Have a great day~

This is a very interesting piece. I really like the interaction of colours. The blue is beautifully repeated throughout the piece to create a monochromatic piece of calm. I don't know if this is intended, but the piece also gives a strong sense of loneliness and a desire to be noticed, as evidenced by the extravagant background stars. The eye is constantly drawn there, which is a beautiful visual element. I also love the detail and attention given to the buildings in the background, and the shape they take to draw the eye even more toward the cataclysm in the background. Overall a very beautiful piece e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="

I love the composition of the picture. It's very well balanced. I think it would look better though if the focus was a bit more on the person than the sky though. This could be achieved by blurring the background a little or reducing the contrast.

Blunell [2016-11-13 12:14:17 +0000 UTC]
Very good job There's something really soothing in this artwork; maybe it's the use of blue, the contemplative look of the character, or what the star trail seem to suggest (Indeed, having a star trail could mean that, if the artwork was a real-life scene, it could have been captured using a long-exposure photography setting; and since Draco is not blurred at all, it implies he stayed still during all the time the photo was taken, ~5 minutes or more. It's a detail that enhances the meditative feel of the artwork. I don't know if I'm clear, and it's only my own interpretation of this star trail xD but it definitely adds a lot of extra tranquillity to the mood.)
You did well by adding the manor/castle in the background, because it gives depth and I must say the architecture is spot-on It's definitely a place where I'd love to chill.
The only thing I would suggest is to go with a darker and more blue-ish skin tone for characters in such night scenes, so he blends even better with the background Just adding a light blue tint on a layer set to "Multiply" over your fully-colored character can give this "night outdoor" impression.

Ahaha i did that on the previous version, adding layer for overall lighting. It did blended in, however i dislike the result. i felt something missing with the focus, so i changed it.
hmm i dodn't know much about long exposure photography technique. However if i made him blurry it won't turn out so well XD
