Edit: Got some tips from the friendly people over at Pixelbrush. So I felt I wanted to fix a few things with the water, his forehead and the over all contrast.
Sorry for spamming you guys! 
Started out without a plan, and this is what appeared. An advanced doodle on which I ended up spending far more time on than I should have. ^^

Kind of like it gets a bigger impact this way, since the eye don't end it's travels in the empty area, as in the first one...

My first reaction to this was a shudder. No kidding, the bulging eye is just creepy and the blood dripping from his mouth looks so real.
And the water droplets... I wish I could make those
