Description Ballpoint pen with pencil underneath. Colour is digitally modified. (I wished to draw her as the middle-aged the women that discussed life, fate and love with Finrod, but obviously, in this sketch she turns out more aged-looking than late forties as she's supposed to be...)

Character belongs to Prof. J. R. R. Tolkien.

Really beautiful nonetheless - it's nice to view her like this, in sharp contradistinction to EKukanova 's portrayals of her in her youth. Both are perfectly valid, if not equally beautiful. I still hold that LotR (or indeed Silm etc.) would be perfect in your style if they were ever converted to Anime !

Thank you for the compliment, that's such honour!

I really love EKukanova 's art, especially the paintings ofΒ Β Andreth and Aegnor. Her use of mood and colours truly brings the feels of otherworldly romance to her characters depicted in impeccable realism.

I did draw younger version of Andreth before, but actually my mental image of Andreth is constantly a middle-aged women with signs of age showing in her look. I have long wished to draw the scene of she having that conversation with Finrod, though that is never executed (and I really need to practice sketching Andreth and Finrod if I wish to, as I really paused Tolkien-related drawings for quite a while)

Oh yes, she's in the pantheon of great Tolkien artists - and is obviously a great artist no matter the subject matter too I'm not sure how I personally imagined Andreth either - perhaps leaning more towards your depiction based upon her moniker as a 'wise woman', which usually connotes age and wisdom. I'd love to paint that scene of her with Finrod too, but who knows when that will happen. Hopefully sometime before I die I'd love to see what you come up with. Obviously when you return more fulsomely to the Tolkien once again! I really need to comment more on other artist's work such as yours, but I'm so mega-busy all the time. Oh well - keep it up!

I think you are really productive given your tight schedule, and watercolour painting takes up more time to create, after all.

Look forward to your Finrod and Andreth, then. I am patient here and waiting is often much much more than worthwhile

The same with me about leaving comments: usually I just go the lazybone track - adding works to fave collections LOL, even though I know a thoughtful, well-composed comment is way more encouraging to the artist Β ~Β

Ah, I guess I'm not too bad at getting stuff out there, but inevitably something suffers one way or another. Either I'm spending too much time painting to the detriment of my studies, or vice-versa! Anyway, 's are indeed usually the way to go, a bit like 'Liking' on FB I guess. But time is finite, unfortunately! Thanks again for this beautiful work
