Description
I recently reread QuantumPhysica 's marvellous A Borrowed Voice, which prompted me to do a few new drawings for this intriguing story. As a result, I decided to post both my older fanart (older than my dA account) and newer pieces on this site. They are all done with ballpoint pen over a pencil draft.A Borrowed Voice is a Silmarillion-centered fanfiction in a modern setting, where the orphaned youth Thomas Ashworth is given a supernatural mission to recall ancient, wandering Elvish souls that are still haunting this living world, and more than coincidentally, his "therapist" and sort-of assistant is a living Elf... You may find the story here: www.fanfiction.net/s/10161260/… (if you have not read it yet)
This piece is inspired by the ninth chapter, featuring Thomas and Curufin studying their hands laying on the glass of a copy machine.

it's curufin!!
XD
(I think that was my fav chapter because Thomas tried to explain electricity and succeeds!)
I really like how the picture is actually a reflection in the copy machine! I love reflection images!

Well, it seems I made a right decision even though it slowed down my drawing progress as it was the first time I coped with this perspective XD
But I did want this picture to convey a sense of instability and maybe uncertainty, with a suggestion of reconciliation, and I thought a shaky reflection in a transparent material like glass might work for such an idea.
