Description
Here is the influence map meme. It was actually pretty fun and interesting to do.Everything is (c) the obvious owners, and the mantis while not owned by anyone was photographed by www.acremar.it

I've... never seen a bug-type-thing (I'll trust you when you say it's a mantis) like that before.
Scott Pilgrim is the biggest surprise here, but maybe that's because I don't know for sure what the woman next to dice and megaman is. I'm guessing Bill Willingham's work... unless he's a writer...
anyway influence maps are cool, and I like yours!

It's a species of mantis, yeah. I had not seen the specific species before, but I wanted some mantis to represent "invertebrates" or nature in general so I looked around for a good representative.
The woman next to dice and megaman is a piece, or part of a piece by Alphonse Mucha. His style has been used/adapted a lot, especially by Marvel.
Scott Pilgrim is almost entirely because of his independent illustrations and Knives specifically. It's probably tied for influence with Ken Sugimori, the Pokemon guy. As Wexford's crest and possibly the dice feel a little out of place, I may feel the need to replace something with Pokemon. Or I may not.

well looking up Alphonse Mucha... nope, nobody I know!
I figured the mantis was closer to a stand in for nature than just that specific mantis, but it had to be commented on 'cause it's just so crazy!
I've seen others who used dice (or similar imagery) so that still fits... but I don't think anybody (I've seen) has ever credited their school! So you COULD call it out of place, or it's just the most unique addition to an influence map I've seen!
well, you can decide if that's good or not
