fizzverse pony specieshi all!! i just wanted to share a few tidbits/headcanons about ponies in the mlp:fim universe and my interpretations of them + how that factors into my next genthis is mostly just me spewing stuff into a document to get my thoughts down and it is pretty structurelessgeneral pony characteristics + facts:- as ponies age, their colors become grayer/more washed-out before any other physical signs of aging. their coat and mane colors become more dull and their markings begin to become whiter or less prominent on their bodies, then things like wrinkles start to appear- gender is extremely fluid because of the existence of magic. if two (or more) ponies with incompatible bodies want to physically have a child, they can do so through the existence of spells that can magically create a baby from their genes, or pairs can do a sex-swapping spell that allows them to have a child in the more traditional senseearth ponies:- earth ponies specialize in physical feats and skills, and have a more subdued type of magic in the marrow of their bones that strengthens and hones their stability + robustness-- they have notorious constitutions and excellent stamina- they are very family-focused and often stick with their surname throughout their whole life (think the apple, pie, + cake families). their heritage and familial relations are a great source of pride, though they aren't strict about blood. adoption and found/chosen family have ties that are just as important- their colors are often more muted or earthy compared to the more saturated unicorns and pegasi, and they tend to have more grounded + stocky physical builds. more horse-like characteristics and natural markings like dapples, spots, and socks are common- they are a more genetically homogeneous species compared to the often-divided pegasi and unicorns; they do not practice or recognize things like houses or subspeciesunicorns:- the curvature of their horn is indicative of their magical potential. the more curved their horn is, the stronger and more complex the internal magic core is- beards are grown among all genders. they grow longer as a pony ages, and are a sign of maturity and wisdom. it's uncommon for younger ponies to have little more than stubble, whether that be because they are unable to grow it out to an attractive length, or it looks uncool or old to them- there used to be subspecies or houses (moon, sun, etc) that unicorns descended from, but they were seen as elitist and exclusive to "purebreds" so the idea was widely abandoned. some stiffer high-brow unicorns still practice/recognize their houses, though- unicorns with strong unicorn ancestry will have the "traditional" fantasy unicorn tail and/or cloven hooves with long, trailing hair- more complex markings that were once indicative of these houses are seen in unicorns. swirls, stars, diamonds, moons, and suns are often found on unicorns with strong unicorn ancestrypegasi:- there are subspecies of pegasi, but it is not based on lineage or elitism-- this idea of subspecies is based on genetic outcomes and wing structure. there are many mixtures and hybrids but there are three main unnamed subspecies:pegasi with large, gentle wings meant for gliding smoothly on wind currentspegasi with medium-sized wings that have more developed secondary feathers for complex aerodynamic maneuvering + speedpegasi with smaller wings that beat quickly like a hummingbird's; they often have trouble learning to fly and are usually only able to hover or go small distances- they do not have hollow bones like birds. their magic allows their wings to carry their logically impossible-to-carry body weight. on occasion, a pegasus-earth pony hybrid will get an unfortunate genetic issue that doesn't allow the pegasus magic to be fully developed, meaning they can't successfully fly (ex. scootaloo)- they are notoriously fluffy because of the downy feathers mixed in with their normal coat, especially around their torsos and chestalicorns:- there are no naturally-born alicorns that have the types of immense power that the princesses have. there can be hybrids and genetic accidents that breed alicorns, but they are not technically alicorns. "true" alicorns are created when a pony demonstrates immense magical potential and is able to tap into it without becoming corrupted by it; only then can they ascend to proper alicornhood and harness their potential for powerful magic- alicorns are naturally taller and they have more intricate appearances than other ponies (i.e. sparkles, flowing manes) because of the magic that was released into their bodies during the ascension process- there are two types of alicorns: mortals and immortals- immortal alicorns: mortal alicorns who took an eternal vow. very much related to destiny and magical prophecy; not every alicorn can become immortalhold universal significance and immense power. they do things that are vital to every creature's survival, like celestia and luna. usually supreme rulers of some kindthey never show signs of physical age, only ever growing in size and design as they continue to harness their magic. they can decide to give up their immortality and pass away, but they will never physically mature like mortal poniescannot reproduce with mortal ponies and often swear off relationships with them- mortal alicorns:hold important titles and significance in society, but not as essential as immortal alicornsexist to make the world an easier and better place, like twilight (friendship) and cadance (love)age similarly to normal ponies and have a normal lifespan, but they show less signs of physical age until they are very oldcan reproduce with mortal ponies and live fairly ordinary lives- they don't technically fall under any unicorn or pegasus subspecies/house when they ascend
about: instead of becoming separated from her best friends by taking over the positions of celestia and luna, princess twilight sparkle remains the principal of the school of friendship. the six elements marry after many various dates, confessions, and romantic hijinks that made them realize they all loved each other. she spends most of her time training the young six to be the new elements of harmony (as the titles pass down to willing creatures) and running her school. twilight lives with her wives and children in her castle in ponyville. she does a lot of personal magic training with ocellus, who is the new element of magic.
i'm kind of in an art mood right now and not a lore-writing mood, so this will definitely have some more added to it later @_@ anyways here is a soft reboot of fizzverse and the mane six omniship!!! all of twi's wives are coming soon, with rarity up next.
