Roman Torchwick was strolling through the city, eating his sandwich. He was accompanied by some hired goons. He walked by an alleyway and heard something! Rustling? He looked down the dark alleyway and saw a small girl crouching over near a toppled garbage can. She was searching for food.
“Hey Weirdo!”
The girl looked up at him.
“Shouldn’t you be home with your parents?”
The girl looked scared and cold. Upon looking closer, Roman saw that she had bruises!
“Oh! Uh, well then, you shouldn’t be out here, it looks like rain.”
The girl’s stomach grumbled. She saw Roman’s sandwich and stared at it, slightly drooling.
“You want this? Meh, sure, why not.”, He threw the sandwich to her and walked away. The girl then scarfed down the sandwich.
Torchwick saw a dust shop nearby. He and his goons pulled a heist and made out like bandits! They walked back down the street, by the alleyway, with the stolen dust, planning to sell it on the black market.
“Well, boys, I’d say this’ll make enough money to split among us.”
“Actually, Boss, we’ve been thinking.”
“That’s bad.”
“We figured, it was time for a downsizing.”
“Really? Which one of you guys is leaving?”
“We’re not leaving, Boss…”, The goon took out his gun! Torchwick glanced over his shoulder and saw it!
“Well…NEITHER AM I!”, He shot the gun out of the goon’s hand and fought with the traitorous goons! He fought them off and knocked them all out, save for one! He snuck up on Roman with a dagger and prepared to strike! Then a TRASH CAN rolled out of the alleyway and into the goon, knocking him to the ground, unconscious!
Roman looked to the alleyway, the girl was there. She was the one who rolled the trash can! Roman straightened himself up and walked off, “Thanks for the assistance, Kid.”
The girl looked at Roman and followed him. Roman saw this and told her to stop, but she just ran up to him and wouldn’t go away. Roman sighed, and said, “You’re not gonna leave, are you?.”
The girl stared.
“Do you even talk?”
The girl shook her head.
“Ugh, fine, but don’t touch, look at, or breathe on me.”
They walked off and it started to rain. The girl shivered, Roman was wearing a jacket and hat, but the girl just had a potato sack to wear. Roman looked at her as she shivered. Roman didn’t feel comfortable seeing her shake coldly, so he looked at a nearby store, “Hang on a sec.”, he walked over to the store, broke in, and walked out holding a pink umbrella. He handed it to the girl, “I found this in the kids’ section. Now stop shaking.”
Roman headed back to his hideout at the docks, with the girl following, “Do you even have a name?”
She shook her head.
“Seriously, your parents didn’t even NAME you!?”
The girl didn’t answer.
“Well, ya look like that ice cream. What’s it called? Neapolitan. I’ll call you…Neopolitan, or maybe I’ll just call ya Neo.”
The girl didn’t seem to have a problem with that name.
They headed inside the warehouse. Roman laid down on his bed and saw the girl looking at him, “You want a place to sleep? Just find any place you’re comfortable and hang there.”, she looked around the place. She tried to sleep in an empty crate, under a table, and in a broom closet. She eventually found a place where she was comfortable, next to Roman in the bed.

it's stuff like this that makes me envision her running to the Meta from Red vs Blue, and he comforts her with growls while she cries, her sobbing narrated with silent-film intertitles.
