I would, but I myself consider it a bit of a useless and hurtful skill. I almost never drew much in my childhood and whenever I HAVE to do something like drawing, I always end up turning in last or late because:
1) Im a lefty, so I get all the smearing problems.
2) I always get proportions wrong, even with a basis pic to draw off of.
3) It hurts my hand after like 40 seconds
and 4) I always get the details wrong, out-of-proportion or just plain off.Β

Well I'm right handed and I'll have smearing problems too with my shading - in your case just work from right to left so your hand wont rub against the drawing as much. Proportions, details, and physical exhaustion are all solved by practicing. It's really just a matter of how much you want to dedicate to it.
