Description
For 's contest. Create a fakemon based on the name "Sparcore". Er... yeah, I'm thinking I'm going to be known for going WAY off the beaten path for contest stuff like this. (For those who remember Shalesc, you know what I mean.)Name: Sparcore (SPawn+ARcane+COR(E)ona. Hah! It makes PERFECT sense!)
Species: Corona Eater
Height: Approx. 1650 feet while standing on all four legs. Yes, SERIOUSLY. (Official height- 1705 feet, 4 inches)
Weight: 125,404 lbs (Most of its body is hollow, which is the only reason its legs can support it.)
Type: Fire
Ability: Immensity- Sparcore cannot be caught or damaged unless it is first shrunken by "unnamed item". (This is the price it will pay for its immense stats.)
Dex Entry: Sparcore were only recently discovered, and have not yet actually been revealed to exist to the general public. Using newly developed equipment, scientists have started to peek into the depths of space, intrigued at the prospect of finding more "alien" pokemon like Clefairy and Deoxys. What they found... was Sparcore.
The scientists discovered a swarm of them only a few hundred light years away from Earth, which is frighteningly close in terms of cosmic time. They are praying that the Sparcore never find them...
What the scientists know: They move through space in countlessly numerous swarms, and only rest when they reach a star. At that point, they eat/drink their fill of the corona, absorbing it into their mostly hollow bodies and storing the heat and radiation. They are immune to even the most intense heat, and can even walk on the stars if they want to.
What the scientists don't know: At any time, they can expel the stored radiation and heat in an enormous, concentrated, firey blast. When it has absorbed the maximum amount of a star's corona that it can store, this blast can reach the equivalent of a small hydrogen bomb. They also can detach their tentacles (which are normally attached to their insides), light them on fire, and use them like whips. The eyes on their tentacles gather energy inside them, and can expel it in bursts. Their only real weakness is that they can't go without radiation for too long, as that is what sustains them.
Name Origin: Well, originally I was going to base the last part of the name on SPAdix (a tentacle appendage of the nautilus)/SPiderlike, aRChaic and eyesORE, but then I figured that wouldn't be such a great idea, mainly due to the last part.
What I Was Going For: Well, I wanted it to be suitable for Lovecraft version, but I needed it to somehow match the name and still be original. Well, it certainly hasn't been done... I had a lot of trouble with the coloring too. But thanks to some help from a poll and , I eventually came up with this. For anyone who wants to see my first shot at coloring this, go here: robotunillamaplz.deviantart.co⦠.
Please, fave, comment, view... whatever.

incredible, it's like an stellar parasite that drinks stuff of the star's corona, i feel the eyes would look more alien if they had the colors of the sun and no pupils at all.

Agreed, lack of pupils would probably be better. This WAS drawn a while ago. I'll probably change that if I ever sprite this.

This actually reminds me of several Cthulhu Mythos creatures, but I like how the overall design is unique and original!

Glad to hear it! Yeah, Sparcore's design process was... odd. At some point I got fed up and just started sticking/connecting things in odd places, hence this. But it worked out well enough I think.

It's so strange and kinda creepy...It's amazing. I love how the colors are done, and the shape of the body with all of the tentacles is great. The description was vivid and pretty eerie. I'm favoriting this immediatley. As I said, great work.

Well thank you! The coloring was difficult to do, so I'm glad you like it.
Thanks for the fave!

You know that if it has two abilities only some of the Sparcore will needto be shrunk before being caught?

Eh, maybe I'll get rid of the other one then.
