Description Okay, that's just a fast one cause I wanted to finish something. Just reusing all the parts I did for the Russian style tank...
An about car-sized anti-air drone, meant to accompany armored formations.

Absolutely agree, but I stuck to personal aesthetics. But thanks for the info, as a reality check is always great!

I would have love to see this in a sequel to Black Ops 2 or Frontwar.

Maybe for the SDC or the Red Star Alliance.

Pretty Sweet! Is it part of a networked group of drones? One that is the radar/tracking drone and several gun/missile drones?

Thanks! Yeah, that's waht I imagined it should work in a network, with some central command and control unit.

Your style is very easy to recognize, i was looking at this without looking at the author and thinking "this has to be flaketom, i wonder if some one used his tank parts to make this?"

MrJumpManV4 In reply to flaketom [2011-09-09 03:50:40 +0000 UTC]

Yea your style seems very oriented around modern millitary vehicles and equipment, i would love to see you make something that is shiny and slick. I think it would be a real challenge and quite a twist to your normal style. also would be good to venture out of your comfort zone.

flaketom In reply to MrJumpManV4 [2011-09-10 06:31:09 +0000 UTC]

Right about the comfort zone...hach. Any ideas for sleek and shiny stuff, as I am thinking more in boxes at the moment (that's why I am amazed by you're designs, cause I don't think i would be able to do this round/organic stuff)?

MrJumpManV4 In reply to flaketom [2011-09-12 05:35:11 +0000 UTC]

I just remembered something...you owe me a model because i won the contest (considering no one else entered of my knowledge)

and my request would be something slick and smooth, specifically a Dassault Rafale French fighter jet.

Enjoy!
(if some one else entered or i read the rules incorrectly please correct me)

flaketom In reply to MrJumpManV4 [2011-09-12 08:07:55 +0000 UTC]

haha,
there is at least another one who entered the contest (wow what a run...), so you'll probably have to wait till end of septemper till I do your Rafale...:d

Honestly i think your stuff looks more interesting and attractive because of all the effort and detail you put into it, your things also look very modular which i've always wanted to try (I took apart all the details of your turret and i was amazed because all that was left was a very simple shape) I'm not really the best at sleek, whenever i make something that's organic shapes i'd be very lucky to have it turn out as a good model.

I should take some of your details and add them to one of my mechs, i think that would looks siiiiiiick.

also last thing, the easiest way to make something "organic" is to use the push/pull/scale method (push pull and then scale one of the top surfaces and repeat the process) idk if you already knew that method but if you didn't it's very useful for me.

flaketom In reply to MrJumpManV4 [2011-09-12 08:15:15 +0000 UTC]

A detailed mech of yours would look badass!

Push/pull/scale?! That's what I thought, but good to actually know. Thanks.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MrJumpManV4 In reply to flaketom [2011-09-13 03:37:45 +0000 UTC]

Yea, I'd love to make a mech, but i would need a few of your models to get some of your lovely component details and such. I understand if you dont want to send me those pieces tho. However if you do send them to me i promise i will give you credit and won't use them for anything other than what you will allow.

MrJumpManV4 In reply to flaketom [2011-09-14 02:41:00 +0000 UTC]

I didn't notice you had your models uploaded, i should try that for a few of mine...
Anyways it seems, at least compared to your tank turret+parts that the older models are a bit sloppy. this is probably because you never intended them to be for other people to use them. Anyways your tank turret is probably going to be the only thing i could adapt to something i make, unless you have a collection of turrets i can barrow.

also i have noted you actually are familiar with making slick models, e.g. the police car which i downloaded. it is quite smooth (also very creative idea with the quick deploy road block)

Anyways, i'm doing some work for a game company so once i get finished with that i can start on this mech.

flaketom In reply to MrJumpManV4 [2011-09-17 11:53:10 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the older models are way more sloppy. Needed to learn a lot. Never thought I'm gonna Share them (didn't even dare to think that people care)
Anyways. Would be nice to see your models here, but then, you already got them in the 3dwarehouse. I didn't go for that otion cause many models were bigger than 10MB, so....
What game you are working for if you don't mind me asking?

MrJumpManV4 In reply to flaketom [2011-09-18 06:34:10 +0000 UTC]

You're old ones are really good to, I must say this one [link] is my favorite out of all the one's you have made. It has incredible functionality i just love it

anyways the game is called project combine, I'm working with a group centralized in Malaysia, there are about 10 people at a time i think working on it (a few leave and join as time passes) Here is a link to the site [link] a lot of the things on there are outdated compared to our current progress with the game.

Also i don't know if you're busy lately but any contributions you can make would be appreciated, if you're interested you could talk to the team leader, Jeremy. It's non profit but the reason i work with them is because of the game's quality and once it's out it could gain me considerable benefits for school and jobs in the future.

jeremy.choo@ammoboxstudios.com

or join the chat channel, keep in mind since it's centralized in Malaysia it's not likely that many people will be on.

The project looks damn nice. Would love to join and do some stuff, but I am a bit busy at the moment and then off for two weeks, maybe afterwards. Dunno how much time there is left till the completion.

Wow, that's a big file size...so much detail, it's like a gallery of all your models in one big truck.
anyways the game is still a work in progress, the only thing we've nearly completed is the demo. We could still definitely use your help after the demo is done.

I really like this one, Tom! Looks perfect. Completely believable. Has classic look. Futuristic, but w/ a gritty retro Cold War vibe to it. Wouldn't mind seeing other views... or as one of your special police anti-riot jobs.

Are the ploughs in front for scooping mines?

HAppy you like it! Yeah I am crazy in love with the retro Russian style at the moment. Can't get enough of it, well...Still much to learn to achieve the right look. More views aren't a problem, will post them...
A Militsiya anti riot version? Sounds like good idea and shouldn't be too much work...
The ploughs in front are for scooping mines, althought I don't know if it actually would work...Well, it looks nice.
