Are you upset that I still like this sequence and still want to gush about it?

Flamekin,
Just a thought on the...umm...white room...
If you have control over the diffuse color, specularity & glossiness, the next time you (hopefully) revisit these girls, you might try making the room a light gray with moderate specularity instead of white.
This should help bring up some contrast so you can see more detail in the room...
Wish they had more details on the table to liven up the broad, white expanse...
Wonder what the 'rockets' on their shoulders do?
Or the 'Bow Pieces' at the base of their spines?
Hmmm..... *Thinking*
I think the original character designer that made these for 3DCG should've made the dress a thinner, multi-panel affair. She's gonna have a BEAR of a time sitting down in a rigid steel dress.
The 'Bow Pieces' will make it difficult to sit down, too...

Ah too bad. I was hoping to hear her thoughts as she was programmed! That's the fun part of any robotocization!

Maybe I should add thoughts to these tranformations later...

Only 26 million workers? They're a small species.

They are. There are other castes, but overall there's less than 30 million of them.

That alone suggests their survival strategy needs an overhaul.

I'd imagine they are a new species and live very long or forever due to being machines, so they're not in danger of extinction.

Even machines eventually wear down and stop functioning ironically.
'New species?' THAT'S what I'm talking about! There's just so much to explore and wonder about here!
And being scavengers for new members, they could very well accidentally pick the wrong species to harvest eventually.
Ironically I can imagine if they converted some celebrities and had them act as public faces and spoke-persons, they could get WILLING converts in VAST numbers if they gave people a -choice-, since then it stops being an invasion and becomes a fad, then a trend, then a social movement, and finally a cultural revolution and beyond that the singularity!

That's very true. There's a lot of people who would like to become female robots on their own! Yours truly included.

The desperate, the curious, the rebellious teenager, their current strategy is rather inefficient.
Or they drop robot conversion nanits into the planet's atmosphere.

Or have built in nanites that are injected via fingertips, OR...a delivery device in the mouth (assuming they can still attract guys enough to get kissed)...
ORRR....
Fill the ship with an atmosphere teeming with the nanites. On the robots, it helps maintain thier outer bodies & subsystems, but if any humans are brought up, and are walked around the ship, the nanites would recognise organic beings and go into 'convert' mode.
If that happened with the two in this story, I could see it slowly affecting their minds, and then their eyes (The girl looking at her bf with now glowing blue optics, freaking him out)...and finally, the preliminary conversion on their bodies.
By THIS point, the tour would (conveniently) end at the conversion table room, which would work with the internal nanites (And maybe fill their system with MORE) and kick the conversion into high gear.
