Richard Rayburn grows up realizing that he's different then most. He was stronger, resistant to disease and injury, and quickly went down the path of wanting to use his abilities to make him rich and powerful. Soon he obtains what he wants, becomes wealthy quickly, heads an international corporate empire and secretly funds and advances the technology to augment his powers. Including granting himself flight and everyone’s dream: lasers out his damn eyes!! He soon becomes addicted to powers like some become addicted to plastic surgery, and continually undergoes further augmentations. What if Lex Luthor had Superman's powers? But what if he becomes the hero instead of the villain, and for what reason? Financial gain? Ego tripping? Celebrity status? And can a selfish powerful billionaire maintain his heroic reputation? And could he possibly keep his real identity a secret… no he can’t.
