Seeing this, I cannot help but hear Motörhead.

Many people who are not familiar with metal tend to associate Motörhead with hard living, heroin and headaches. It is easy to forget how - like all metal musicians worth their salt - Lemmy was highly proficient on acoustic guitar, left a very broad musical legacy, and never viewed his more notorious, spectacular work as distinct from his softer, dreamier work with Hawkwind. After all, it was "simply rock 'n' roll".

Seeing this picture, I cannot help but wonder where they are now, forty-nine long years hence. Perhaps, with the pups long since out of the house and the grandchildren getting too big to stay with grandma and grandpa, she finds his old lowrider lovingly restored on eBay and decides to break out an early anniversary gift. And as Spring breaks to Summer they ride across the country once more - a lot stiffer in the joints than last time, with sagging curves and balding tails, crossing a landscape dotted with derelict NMT towers and flanked by SUV:s on the road - but no matter how changed still there, still very much alive, as long as health allows.
Certainly there is a sense of nostalgia here: To many people the 1960's are a time of mythology, Woodstock a name associated with mystique and ancient ritual - but for just as many they are only small parts of much longer stories, some of them very much ongoing. Perhaps there is less time left before it is time to join the wolfpack in the sky, but there is certainly no looking back; as then, there is only here and now, with wind on the muzzle and flowers in the hair.

Simply rock 'n' roll.

Fantastic!  There was some great music in those days; unfortunately I just missed it.  But I have some old albums -- Country Joe and the Fish, Quicksilver Messenger Service, etc. etc.  So groovy!

Love her clothes with all the fringe and flowers, and his chopper is outtasight!
