Benkei was a Japanese warrior monk who served the samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune. he is almost always depicted with his naginata (supposedly with a very long blade). he died defending Yoshitsune, so that his lord could commit seppuku.Related content

Very nice, although he's missing his Yamabushi and the naginata traditionally had longer handles - it looks like he's got a Nagamaki.
