Description
Yet something else a little different I've been working on. I drew some inspiration for this from 's piece [link] and from working at Claire's Boutique, where we actually sold those "glasses". I've been thinking of doing a few pics of girls with accessories, since I'm obsessed with them. Also, I own a pair of those earrings that she's wearing, except mine are silver. I love 'em!!!Also, I really am sucking at naming stuff right now, so once again this name could change, I just wanted to get the piece up!

what type of graphic do you mean? I let people use my stuff for psp groups and what not, if that's what you're referring to.

I absolutely love your style Just was curious to if you draw this digitally in ILL or PS, or if you draw it traditionally first, scan in and then trace in ILL/PS? I think this is completely rad. You rock.

thanks so much as for you question, this piece, and pretty much all of my pieces, are drawn traditionally then scanned in and done in either AI or PS, though I never traditionally draw the backgrounds that I create, those are all created after the fact

I tend to draw traditionally first, as well - then scan into Illustrator too. Do you trace by the pen tool, or do inking with the brushstrokes for the outlines? Just curious what your technique is, I typically use the pen tool - as I feel you have more control as to what it looks like - but I know that some like to use the brush tool in the same sense. Either way, love it!

Way back in the day (like 3 years ago lol) I used the brush tool in Flash to outline stuff, yikes it was hard and I have very little control. Now whenever I line something it's lined in Illustrator using the pen tool, and most of the time when I vector I use my mouse, though sometimes I use a tablet too. When I do my lines though I don't just trace around with a stroke, Each line is an object to give the lines different thicknesses kind of like you would see if you used a brush. (Does that even make sense?!?)

Yep, that's what I do too. I think the AutoTrace feature is a neat idea, but I think it sucks. I toyed around with it when I got CS3...and I kept tweaking with the settings...just never satisfied! If you want something done right? Do it yourself! That's my motto!

I've never actually tried AutoTrace, though I've seen results from some stuff that people have done, and it's never as good as when you actually vector it

I like the composition! It's so fun to look at, with the shape of the earrings, her long neck, and the splatters. The textures in the background really add to it. :]
