Music is the language of the soul. It can make us feel happy or sad with a simple melody. This is my first entry for 's contest. I made a cute pair of musical opposites. Enjoy!Related content

I love this; it reminds me a lot of my pop-guzzling and metal-loving sisters.
Also, it reminds me of myself; I loved punk and heavy metal in high school, now I love soft indie stuff.

This is really cool!! Its sweet how they are in different clefs too!! its a really neat concept! I cant read bass clef though! Are the songs the same or just random? I notice that the rhythm is the same. I am soooo over thinking this huh?

The notes have no particular meaning or anything, since I can't really read bass clef too well either, and it's been so long since I ever read music. I never noticed before though that they each had a similar rhythm, though I may have done it without even thinking. I'm a symmetry freak!

I think it's the treble and bass clefs that really make me love this opposites theme.

I think this is the perfect entry to the contest! The opposites here are easy to see at first glance (happy vs sad), but when you look closer there's even more: the color of clothing, the facial expressions, the butterflies vs dead-looking leaves. The poses are especially good, you nailed those. Even the pink and the white iPods are great contrasts!
Great job overall, the only thing I can see that's a bit bothering are the fact that the "sad" girl's socks blend into the background, leaving her feet fairly disembodied.

thank you so much for the comment, and yeah I know what you mean about her socks, I was trying to keep some kind of theme going between the two, since the happy girl also has white that blends into the background, but hers works alot better than the sad girls socks.

YES! yes it is! i love your big footed children of music! it seems very seasonal to me too, like summer and fall or winter. their outfits are too cute i swear i have wellies just like the bright girl <3 lovely concept...yes lovely <3

I found that they had a seasonal look to them as well, very spring/summery and fall/wintery, though when I first started drawing them I hadn't had that in mind.
