Yeah, I know, right? I've never really had issues with his hair (though I have improved in my method of drawing it). The hardest part for me to get right is the shape of his face too. And his shoulders. UGH. But I love his sexy shoulders! xDDDDD

I draw with a tablet for the PC, and I usually draw straight into photoshop. That's how I drew this. Glad you like it!

In this particular case, I just used a size three hard, round brush. That's what I usually draw my rough lines with, but if the image is larger, I go with a size five.

I'm not the best artist, but I always find myself being able to draw something better after watching someone draw it.
Now that I know better how to sketch him, I can see myself now doodling all over my notebooks and getting distracted by them xDDD

That's a very good way to look at it. I know I'm not the best artist either, so I do just what you said; I do my best to keep improving!
And hey, if you keep practicing, I PROMISE you will improve. As cliche as it sounds, it's 100% true as I've improved dramatically just from drawing and doodling every day. I know what I'm talking about--trust me on that one.

I totally know what you mean, I used to draw and do art a lot more when I was younger and I did notice improvements over those times but then I just stopped and I don't know why ;-; I haven't touched a shading pencil or paintbrush in years
I'm hoping that once I finish my exams this year, I'll start back, but the funny thing with me is, I /never/ hardly finish a piece I start... *sobs into a towel*

Yeah, I hear that from a lot of people. And I don't blame them! I used to have a lot of trouble with his hair. It was the way his bangs stuck up from his forehead that got me. xDDDD But I kept practicing and finally figured it out. As of now, it's one of the easiest things for me to draw. His clothes have become the new obstacle.....>_>
His eyes are my other favorite thing to draw! They're so pretty........@3@

I can get the stuck-up part of the bangs right, but I always draw his bangs either too skinny or too fat.

Awww, that was another thing I had trouble with! I always made them too thin. xDDD Using referances really helps with that kind of thing.
I just feel like I put too many folds in his clothes. xDDDD And I'm working on where to put the shine on his leather pants. (Looks like a job for a referance picture! xDD) Other than that, they're not really a problem.
I LOVE DRAWING HIS AUTOMAIL @3@ I don't even think I draw it that good, but it's so much fun! Personally I don't think it's that hard, but that's just me. xDDDD

I also always draw them covering too much of his face.
I have the opposite problem. I never draw folds in clothes.
I can never remember what his automail looks like. And I always draw it too clunky-looking.

Yeah, it's tough to figure out how thick they're supposed to be sometimes. Especially since they look so fluffy in Brotherhood. xDDD
xDDDD Fold are fun, but I never know how much is too little and how much is too much! The highlights of his hair I can tell you is something you learn to draw from experience. Believe me; I've butchered them enough times to know. It's only until recently I've finally got the hang of it. xDDDD
I never use a referance for his automail, but I probably should. I just KNOW that I'm getting it wrong. xDDDD;;;;
