Background:
born into an old town in the back yard of an old castle Michelle grew up in a very duty-bound family consisting of bodyguards to a royal family, the family had great pride in their work and taught this to michelle to have pride in herself from an early age she was raised and trained to serve her future master in battle, the master in question was a young galarian prince that was spoilt from birth, expecting everything his way and did not accept no as a response despite growing up alongside this prince the young child was more focused on her training that she would often ignore the other children's invitations to play, and when she wasnt studying or training she would just stand on a high perch somewhere staring ahead lost in thought,
she was brought up to follow this tradition and honour of serving a royal family, yet she still did not feel the pride her family expected her to feel, instead, she felt incomplete and conflicted. it was when she met the prince and began joining her parents on their guard duties that she understood why, the kirlia/duoblade at 9 years old soon saw the royal family as inconsiderate of the people who lived around their castle, often scorning or punishing the common man just because their newborn was crying too loudly from hunger. the sight made Michelle sick to her stomach. it was then she knew she would disappoint her family, she could not feel pride if this was who she was born to serve, but she could not leave, not yet anyway. hiding her real feelings and opinions she began to reluctantly attend her assigned duties of shadowing the prince within the castle walls along with the more experienced guards.
the prince would often command his maids and butlers to do menial and belittling things for his amusement such as pretend to be ferals and feeding him his food. and when Michelle began to shadow him he just tried to rope her into his so-called "fun" but was shocked when she refused to join in stating that she could not order someone on the same level as herself. infuriated that this girl would not do what he wanted he yelled at her, scorned her and slapped her around the face, but she did nothing, despite wanting to cry she was taught never to as it was unbecoming of a guard and a knight. so she decided until she could escape this fate she would show emotion, nor would she speak around her family or this prince
furious at having no reaction from the girl the prince began to mess with her from that day on, spending their teen years pulling her hair fake fighting her, calling her names and attempting to belittle her growing more and more frustrated whenever she remained stoic to his efforts to break her. her skill in hiding her emotions hardening over the years even when his attempts started to stop. on the eve of her 18th birthday however she finally spoke, when she and the prince was alone in the rose garden she approached him. with him mumbling that she'll be his official guard when she takes her oath of service tomorrow, and thought she was going to be overjoyed about it, only, she answered with a simple no. surprised the prince turned round and looked to her, the kirlia/ duoblade stated that this would be the last he will see of her, as she was leaving the palace, her family and the region behind. confused and shocked the prince demanded to know why she was leaving her precious pride and honour.
Michelle just stated that she was never honoured here, nor did she feel pride in serving such a horrid and spoilt family. not caring how this would effect her own life she just stated that she will cut all ties with the region and her family and left after speaking those words confused slightly as to why she saw tears swelling up in the princes eyes as she turned around,
but true to her word she left that very night, taking what little she had and enough to travel to another region she left the palace, the town and boarded the first boat she could, soon landing in Kingbre where she travelled a bit before finding the KDF compound, seeing everyone here dedicated to helping those less fortunate and protecting not just their region but the whole world, that made her feel something, signing up for their course and easily passing all tests to become a field soldier she felt more and more happy in what she did and of her skills, finally she felt proud.
