I use photoshop CS6 but any photoshop should work. In fact, any program with a 'hardness' brush setting should work.

I was in the same boat as you back in high school hehe, then I just said enough was enough and got this lame job at a pizza hotline. I worked until the exact day I'd saved up for a nice art rig and then peaced the heck out ;D

I used to use SAI but I can't remember if there were blending options. It does have a blur tool at least, right?
