Description Now that i have finished the carved foam tree trunk it is time to apply the epoxy putty. The Magic Slupt brand is the type I like best, it is less pasty than plumbers putty and acts more like a clay. A kit comes in two parts which you knead together to create the chemical reaction required to harden it. You only have a half hour or so before the mixture starts to harden so it is best to mix small batches at a time, the more it hardens the harder it is to work with. You also need to use water on your tools and hands when working it, the putty is water soluble so it is easy to smooth out with a brush once applied. This stuff gets hard as a rock when cured and will destroy your tools if you don't keep them clean. I usually just wipe my tools off with a wet rag as I go. The tools I am using are just common wood and metal sculpting tools as well as a couple home made wire brush tools for texturing.
