Description I've been receiving requests from many people to share the brush settings that I use. I apologize that I couldn't respond earlier but I haven't had the time to make a full tutorial during the semester. I hope that this answers some of your questions! It's really all about playing around with the functions. You never know what you'll stumble upon. Try it out!

I there, I find this amazing, but I can't figure out where is the second brush you mention on step four, I use Ps CS6 and is not with the dry media brushes... Can you tell me the name of it. Thanks for the tut though.

Thanks for trying out the tutorial!
Hmm, I'm wondering why on your screen it says "Other Dynamics" instead of "Transfer"--I see that you're using PSCS5 so it should be the same. I don't know if this is an important factor, but Transfer is what allows the strokes to be softer/have gradient depending on pen pressure. Are your lines still bold even when you stroke lightly?

KloKloShoo In reply to flominowa [2012-08-14 04:59:21 +0000 UTC]

Im actually using PSCS3...

For mine other dynamics looks exactly like the transfer in your photoshop... And yes, my lines are still bold even if i stroke lightly.

I've started to realize that my Photoshop is really weird. I don't think it changes the brush texture if I do anything to it... Anyways.. thanks for your help!!

I wasn't sure so I checked. Unfortunately I don't believe so. The brush options are limited with elements. Sorry!

This was really useful, every step is so specified and detailed, and the tut doesnΒ΄t look rushed at all... I actually love how you made it kinda "artistic" and so dynamic. I think I might try this, I just have to ask what photoshop version do you use, since the name of the settings may vary.

Anyway, this is going into favorites for future references... I really like this tutorial. ^^ awesome job on it.

O M G. OMFG. You have no idea now I am so thankful for this! I've been searching a technique how to color the crayon/chalk look on it... you just saved my life! I put my high respect for you since not many artists wanted to share this 'secret' to everyone, you're just so humble. I wish I can hug you properly IRL instead of in the Internet... because how much this mean so much for me! Thank you, thank you zillion times!!!! * hugs you tightly*

I have seen this texture used by other artists, or something similiar and NONE will share the magic. Its like some great magicians secret. It is the exact texture I want for this animated project I am working on. I can't thank you enough for this tutorial! Right now u are pretty godly in my eyes.

Yeah, you're so right! I've been asking so many artists about how they achieve this texture-y technique... and none of them are willing to share or clarify thoroughly like this one! ;_;

what photoshop progam do you have?
i have 7 and i don't have the transfer part...

Khuzang In reply to rebeccapark9 [2011-08-18 13:42:22 +0000 UTC]

This, I think, is CS5.TRANSFER is also known as "Other dynamics" in cs3 and 4

Adobe is good at forcing consumers to relearn the same program. Again. And again
