i think it actually contrasts with the canon pearlie's look - instead of looking neat and elegant, she's unkempt and dirty

She's got her Gem on her throat, stripy strapless shirt under suspenders, with some funky-colored jeans. Her visor is also more like goggles. I was up last night for hours (not exactly fun) and so that's what I did. ><

maybe references for how the Gem shapes are drawn and shared in the show, but other than that, I don't think so
