Phew ... it's been forever since I last uploaded something! (Sorry once again, I know I keep saying this, but I am trying to hopefully do art more regularly again.) It has also been ages since I last did a painting like this, with a background and all.
I figured I'd give it a go, and it was pretty fun to return to that style, though getting the grass right(-ish) was quite a struggle. 
I'm feeling quite OK with how it turned out in the end, though.

Sieht sehr schön aus, gefällt mir gut, vor allem Schweif und Mähne! Ist der Hintergrund eine Textur? Sieht vom Stil her etwas anders aus als das Pferd - das ist das einzige, was mich ein wenig stört.

Durch die tolle erdige Farbpalette und die Art

The horse is lovely, but I especially love what you've done with the grasses and branches in the fore and backgrounds. Such a wonderful use of negative painting.

Sure thing:
For the grass I used this brush set (had to adjust the brushes a little): The Ultimate Grass Brush Set
For the trees: Vegetals Brushes
I used these to sprinkle a tiny bit more of texture here and there (mainly on the horse's butt
For the hair and vegetation: lazy brush set
And I know that I used a really nice brush to paint the horse (it blended really well, almost felt a bit like working in watercolour), but I can't find it anymore. 
Also, to get some extra texture in there I used the "High Pass" filter in Overlay mode, and the "Add Noise" filter to make it look less clean and flat and boring.
