Description
A scene showing some of the animals which lived in (and nearby) rivers and lakes during the Cretaceous in Wyoming. The line art was created by Russell Hawley .While I did not draw the line art for this image, I did color it, using GIMP, for use in the museum where I work. I have full permission from Russell to post my coloration of this here on DA.

The gar was fun to color. All those little scales and the mottled underside. Though personally, I like the monitor lizard, primarily due to it climbing on the ceratopsian skull.

If you substituted modern variants for the extinct animals here, then yes, very easily.

Indeed. Like today's world, the prehistoric world usually had a wide diversity of organisms.
