Description
These origami boxes were made from my husbands road atlas after it started to fall apart. I love paper and couldn't resist saving the atlas from the trash bin.The box on the right is a close up of the largest box lid.
Largest box is 7in across by 2in deep.
Smallest box is 2.75in across by just over .5in deep.
Submitted for the [link] contest on recycled crafts.
Edit: [link] Congrats to the winners!. Also many thanks for choosing these as second place.

Awesome! Are they modular or are the lids and boxes each made of one piece?

They're modular. Each box top is four pieces, as are each box base.

Thank you.
Though I do think your raven was better than my boxes.
I hadn't had a chance to check DA in a while so finding your and biancaneve81's comments were my first indication they'd actually decided on winners.

I like them too. And to think that some people never recognize the beauty in utilitarian things like maps.

What a great idea! And I'm sure the boxes are nice a sturdy because they tend to print road maps on better paper! This is awesome!

I'm glad you like them.
They would have been sturdy if I'd have used a fresh atlas instead of an old worn out one. But as is, they're about the same strength as if I fold them out of plain copy paper.
