My favorite one was 'Toque', because I am a quebecker.. Tuque. XD
(Yes, I think it is, Zero and all, because the show supposedly used a LOT of informatic and stuff terminology in naming and all)

Very nice! And yes, that is exactly what these fellows are meant to be. Collectively, they're binomes.

Thanks. Where did you find out that they're called binomes? Come to think of it, I still have to finish the other binome.

One, the trading cards and some other bits of merchandise. Two, they use the word a number of times throughout the series, though never in a context that clearly and incontrovertibly says "that is what these guys are called." (It's hard to manufacture a context like that, because everyone in the show already knows that and wouldn't feel any need to say it.)

I'll try to notice it the next time. Thanks. Wouldn't it be awesome to land a job at Rainmaker Studios?

A few instances off the top of my head:
- The Crimson Binome
- Enzo to Mr. Pearson in High Code: "You're just a cowardly old binome."
- Mike the TV in Talent Night: "Ladies and gentlemen, binomes and subroutines..."
It would indeed be cool, if it would allow one to work on new ReBoot stuff or at least to smack some sense into their legal department. :-P

Wow... You really pay attention. Somehow I missed all that.
What did a subroutine look like?

I have watched the series a lot. Also, I'm a natural memorizer. But seriously, I have watched it an absurd number of times.
Darned if I know. That was just what he said. Possibly some mid-level sprites are subroutines?

Someday I'll get my hands on the DVDs and be the one who watched it an absurd number of times.
Could be just something random they said.

Well, yes, it was just something random, but that doesn't mean we can't try to interpret it if we want.

True. But I have the idea that the server working at Dot's Diner might be a subroutine, because it's not a sprite..

Strictly speakingβalthough I'm afraid I couldn't say offhand how much of this is stated in-show and how much is interpretationβpretty much everyone in the show is a sprite. It doesn't just means the humanoids. Mike the TV refers to himself as a media sprite. Even binomes are a type of sprite. However, the heroes are the highest-level sort of sprite with the most complex code, which suggests to me that they're entire programs. Binomes have minimal code; I suspect that binomes with distinguishing features must be more complex than the standard model. A subroutine would fall somewhere in between, it being part of a program, but I can't say for certain where, whether we're talking complex binomes or Sal and Harv (humanoid but low-poly) or, as you say, Cecil.

Now that you mention it, I noticed the common use of "sprites" quite a bit.
Perhaps anything that can be registered (wearing the reboot logo) counts as a sprite.
Did you know there's a book called "The Art of Reboot"?
Perhaps we should drop an email to Rainmaker Studios and hear if there's additional material on the Reboot series?

Yes, I have it and the extra "plug-in" booklet, and I understand there is more to come.

wow.....That looks awesome. I haven't watched Reboot in ages. I still remember how it was a big thing back then. But now I notice in the animations, they slide a bit, and are very slow when moving limbs

lol. I noticed that as well. The special effects on season one is just terrible. Like an explosion is just a white sphere that enlarges.
